Kraton My 2022 forever thread . kralion , kraton , kraton XL , typhon ( all same truck )

Well it’s been a talion for quite a while , cos the talion works great , but I am in full buggy mode at the moment , having got a brilliant radix 6 , and having hit a metal post the talion is now a typhon , I think it was around 50 mins to change , first test done and softer suspension is required as it’s a tad bouncy , will try the radix shocks whilst I wait for the parts to arrive . Love it

2 front shock pins to find in case the long-uns are spotted

All dressed up and ready to throw the muck around in the garden , great fun had on 4s , just need thinner shock oil and bobs your uncle , drives great , just a tad hard . Superb

The animal was on 6s this evening and a 20t pinion , what a beast , must change the shock oil though

Ok , so I don’t need two buggy’s , I ran the typhon n radix together a few times , but for me the radix is superior ( in my garden ) so it’s bye bye typhon and hello Talion …. Again but with a twist , this time it will be cleaned and repaired , both front n rear diff cases lost there threads months ago , this one will run kraton towers and shocks , these are softer than my current talion set up , could make the bumpy lawn a better drive . It’s nice seeing it clean , even for a short while

and as if by magic , she’s done , she’s clean . Can’t believe it’s my talion / kraton . Got new arms on front , new diff cases , wrong wing mount , but that’ll do . Supposed to rain here tomorrow at long long last , so she could be getting lucky pretty soon

Never been a fan of the copperhead 2 on grippy grass , but my grass has all but gone , so gonna try again . 15t pinion , soft suspension , oh and the 3s typhon wing fits the low profile mount when using kraton supports , now changing up , it’s gonna be a monster …. I hope

Test flight 1 is done , lots better with the soft suspension , but she hit thermal after 10 mins of the start stop , oh and she is a monster indeed , my garden has shrunk with this one stock 12t pinion going in later and fans too , did not get anywhere near full throttle , so 15t not needed

She’s worked great , nearly all day long , a few ESC adjustments and the lawn was destroyed , trashed one of the wheels too , also hit a tree head on at a fair lick , but all is well for another day , the v5 rear diff sounds great when wound up

an outstanding evening with the talion chassis kraton , once again , the copperhead2 grip to much on the grass, but not to worry , i blew the rear V5 diff to pieces , love it

So , a short time later ….. she’s now on a Mojave chassis and the same kraton bits etc . One test in the garden and all is well , will try n get my daughter to photo later as the in action shots look good to me

A great evening last night , the Kraton XL ? Rocks Great , even the bodge diff held up , got a 15t pinion coming for more air control , listen to me the expert air control I noticed when she was nose down yesterday , that even flat out on the 12t pinion , the nose wouldn’t rise . The left rear keeps coming undone , so new nuts n hexes coming too

It’s my last day off , so removed the 6s system from the radix 6 and installed onto my truck which now sports a V5 kraton chassis , a total animal on the copperhead2 wheels n tyres and still a beast on the Katars . It’ll wheelie for England , my spektrum motor must be worn or the team corally motor is excellent , loadsa power indeed

Proper test done , 6s and 4s , on 6s it’s an animal , a total git to drive , on 4s she’ll still wheelie and crack about some , what a great free upgrade

Backflip lp’s have been re-glued … again 20t pinion added , a total monster on 6s in my garden time to revisit the Mojave chassis , little better chance to get the power down , must then get the ramp built , the kraton xl is gonna fly better than ever before ( for me that is ) the backflips still torque steer a tad , but not as bad as the copperheads

kraton xl she is once more , copperhead2 and backflip lp used , do you know what , with all the testing , its the backflips which make the truck for me , be it on a kraton , talion or mojave chassis . as you can see i hit a tree whilst being clever , but shes all fixed again , and even thermalled cos its a tad warm out and running a 20T pinion , so my conclusion puts me back to the start of this journey , the talion for me , in my garden on backflips is the best , so you guessed it , a talion she will be tomorrow , got some proper talion shocks coming from jennys , one other bonus to the talion chassis i suppose is that when i bung a 23t pinion in there , 4s also works great . i really must get a talion body ...... one day . anyways , thanks for listening everyone

Talion front shocks and EXB diff complete came from Jenny’s sooo fast and proper cheap compared to uk prices , the ramp is nearly ready , needs support behind and a sheet of 4mm ply over the front side , but pleased so far as it’s all free skip wood , the truck is back on the talion chassis but still sporting kraton towers etc

Christ she flew , never had an rc car so high , a satisfying thump too as she lands flat , lots more time to think the higher she goes
