Thank you for doing that! How thick are they?

I want to try and fit the largest OD ones I can on there, just for extra strength. Yours are 6.30mm. I have the option of 7mm or 8mm OD. I wonder if the 8mm would fit in the little cutout area ok?

The 4th pic shows the thickness 0.60mm

7mm should work there are some panels that screw drop in so be mindful of those on how wide the OD is if going larger than 8mm. Have all sizes will never go to waste with an RC you will find usage for unused shims down the road.

Sorry to nitpick, but I am getting some black oxide coated 316SS to prevent rusting. They aren't cheap. Otherwise, I would just buy a kit or several to try out.

Do you think the 8mm would fit in the screw "drop in".

The 7mm are 0.60mm thick
The 8mm are 0.97mm thick (too thick maybe?)

Ok, so I took some measurements.

Looks like the "drop-in" spots in the plastic will only nicely accommodate up to a 7mm OD washer. The washer I have is 8.3mm and is just too big as you can see in the pics there is some overhang.

Parcou's washers are 6.3mm so I would say anything between that and 7mm is a good size. I probably wouldn't go any smaller as the stock m2.5 button head screw is already 5.81mm OD.

That solves that!

The one question I still have is when doing the Shoe Goo / E6000 and wall texture tape treatment to the underneath for more structure, will that increase the thickness of the body panels enough to warrant longer M2.5 button head screws? Will this treatment along with the additional thickness of the washers necessitate this? Or will the stock M2.5 x 8mm screws be sufficient?

Also what is best Shoe Goo or E6000?

Could fiberglass screen door patch material be used in place of drywall tape? It has a sticky back which I thought would be helpful in positioning the tape before applying the adhesive.

I was thinking, instead of doing drywall tape / shoe goo, what about gluing some fiberglass washers underneath all the screw holes and body mounts (on the underside of the body) to add more strength to those areas for the screws to bear down on?

Anyone tried this?

I was looking at the pics of my take-off FT body panels today (from the cage I sold @StephenSchandelmayer) that were only on my truck for about a month before I converted it to a Kraton body and a couple of the holes for the side guards where the screws go up from underneath are torn. I got it in the middle of winter so I would be surprised if I got more than 3 or 4 packs through it before I swapped to the K6 body a month after purchase.

I know these things are fragile, but these were likely this way as soon as the monkeys at Arma assembled them. I am so glad I switched to a K6 shell, way more durable, lighter, and less expensive. :D
