The first part I got to add to my Kraton 6A V5 is a stronger servo from all the reviews I have read that seemed to be a must if I wanted better and stronger steering. I have not installed that yet on my truck:

As I was running the truck, I hit a big bush and knocked my steering link off so I used one of the screws from the wing to fix it and ordered a set of screws:

I then realized I better have some quality hex drivers for the screws, I already have a small drill and I used to have these MIP hex driver that had a reputation as quality tools, so I bought them again since I couldn't find my old ones, the screwdriver are in a future buy...

As I was running my truck and I touched the motor and it was really to hot to touch and I don't have a heat gun yet but I knew from watching a video the thing that destroys the motor most is the heat so I got a fan for the motor and install it yesterday. The connections did not match so I stripped the ends of the wire coming out of the ESC and stripped the wire from the fan and wired them together not knowing if it would work or not and it did! I was surprised and please it all worked out and the fan seems really strong but wait till summer and see what I say then... The yellow button turns the fan on and off.

You can see in my last picture I have my truck on a small bench, I just ordered a car stand coming tomorrow:

So far I have really just added the fan, I am going to order a aluminum brace for the steering servo in the future when I tire of the servo that is in there now, right now I love getting my driving skills back and getting used to all this power this monster has.

Weeee here love pictures. Lots of them ..so let's get going.. part of this hobby is also being a photographer.😁 Good job on your build so far..👍
Thanks! I like to take pictures almost as much as I like working on and driving "Brutus" This is like a nice diary of everything I am doing on the big fella. I'm planning on going to our local dog park and taking a video of the dogs chasing Brutus from the videos I have seen it looks like fun, I just have to make sure they don't catch him and chew his tires off... Thanks again for the kind words.

Have fun with it! Those are great servos. One note, I would only use those stainless screws for plastic into plastic. They are softer and will strip pretty easily anywhere you’d need threadlocker. I order Arrma hardware kits from Jenny’s like these. You’ll need extras on hand anyway, lol.

Looking forward to watching your build!

Thanks for the help Dan and the kind words. Went over to Tonys Screws and got some better screws: https://www.tonysscrews.com/main.sc

I wrestled with myself about buying these because of the cost, but I know their quality is so good and I don't have a set of these so I bit the bullet and ordered them, coming this Saturday.
I don't think you'll regret it. Although I only get the speed tips now & use a malco ratcheting driver(s) Have multiple sets so can have different sizes in each ratcheting driver & a couple more in electric drivers. Since I wreck stuff a lot it makes wrenching so much more enjoyable 😅🤷‍♂️

Thanks Josh, do you have a picture of the tools (Malco Driver) you are talking about, I like wrenching as well and I learned a long time ago when I have the right tool for the job it makes it a lot easier...

Those are really nice.had the same exact set when I was working at the body shop and right before I left they got stolen .had them for 9 years never stripped them .didn't even know they were still being made .that shows how good they are.nice purchase 👍😁

I have the one single ratcheting driver, then I just recently got this 3 piece set

Thanks for the link for Tony’s, I wasn’t hip to them.

They’re the best. I have a standard set (not ball drivers) as well as the speed bits. Use MIP’s with those 12.9 hardness hardware and you won’t be swapping fasteners very often.

I got my screws from Tony's Screws - https://www.tonysscrews.com/main.sc I'm impressed! the screws were sorted by their specific size and put in little bags. I ordered the set for XMaxx and I feel like I have a good back up now for any lost screws.

I have a center diff coming from Jenny's and some 500K diff oil, I want to work with the diff to get comfortable taking it apart and putting it back together again. I did this with my Mugen years ago, so I just need to refresh my memory. Working on this is like playing to me. I'm wondering how much different it will make in how my truck Brutus runs.

Is it a Kraton diff? Can’t tell, it almost looks like the 46 tooth Infraction diff. If so you just opened up your gearing options a lot.

Smaller 46 tooth count, you can fit bigger pinions. Mostly used for high speed street bashing or speed runs. In an off-road Kraton you still have plenty of options though, so it’s certainly not necessary. Just bring your temp gun and shoot your motor so you know if your gearing is on point for the kind of bashing you do.
And you certainly don’t seem ignorant. You’ve obviously done a lot of research for this build and made great choices, even down to your tools. I wish I would have started with MIP’s like you did, it would have saved me the money I spent on like 5 prior sets of hex drivers and the aggravation of many stripped hexes.
