You can switch steps 3 and 4 around as well as steps 6 and 7 but I'd leave the other steps as is

Yeah, some steps can be moved around, sometimes. Some chargers have issues if you plug a battery into them when they are not powered on, so don't do that until you read your manual and make sure it is safe. Also, you don't want to plug your battery into the battery lead before the lead is plugged into the charger, as now you have live voltage on those bare ends, and it is easy to short them. Same for after charging.

The most important step - read the manual for your charger before you do anything - make sure it does not have some odd requirement.
