Infraction My first paint job - Bittydesign seven65 infraction

Wanted something simple and road car like for my first rc paint job.

The colour is Tamiya metallic red (4 coats) backed with Tamiya gunmetal.

The windows are tinted a little too.

The black details and wing are black plasti-dip painted on the outside. I wanted a contrasting matt finish to the glossy red, and if i don't like the aero panel behind the front wheels being black (still undecided) i can just peel it off and it's red again!

The main problem is now I just want to put it on a shelf and look at it. I'll be to scared to drive it.

It was a simple scheme, but still took a lot of hours.

Take alot of pictures for memories....then drive the crap out of it.
Then paint another.
Excellent paint work there.
This is my next Lim body for sure. Been eyeing this body for way too long now. Need to pull the plug. Just that I have 2 other bodies waiting for paint.
My Lim body is trashed at this point and waiting for a Seven65.

My tips

Watch videos
take your time
light coats
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to speed up dying to make recoating faster

Painting lexan bodies can be a hobby by itself.
90% of it is preparation and planning.
You will get better and better at it after your 15th body.
One color paint job is best for your first one.
I tried numerous colors. But find I am comfortable with and get best results with a 3 color job.
I never paint my windows, I mask them. I like my windows clear, No stickers on them. More scale looking also. Stickers peel and scratch off anyway at some point
I also like to see the ESC Red or Green lights through the clear windows. To see if am LVC/Red or Thermal cutting/Green , without body removal.
