Just thought I'd share some pics of my build.
Max5
TP 4070cm 2200kv
8s Ripple killer

went 103mph back to back with the stock electronics and the ripple killer. Can't wait to see what this will do.

The tricky part was swapping the steering servo to the other side. The steering arms bowed outward and hit the steering rod end so I had to add a spacer so it would clear the steering arm but also clear the bottom a arm hinge pin block.

Congrats. Looking sweet.

I wondered how you fit that max5 in there... the max6 in my outcast is awful close to the servo as it was.

Nice heatsink it would be 😂
Is kind of neat, but I think I'd score the inside really well with steel wool before clamping a heat sink down on it since cans have a thin plastic lining/coating in them.

Curious how their 4070 performs... would like a stronger (or as strong power wise, but cooler running than the blx2050kv) of a motor in my e-revo v2, but I'm limited to 74mm length.

I'd invest in some better center axles,(dogbones).start running hi-power,then rear center shaft comes apart an smacks motor.i went with scorched titanium.
I just put xlx2 on mine.first run today..

Freeway was backed up and the road I use had way more traffic than usual. All I could do was 116mph 28p/34sView attachment 145153
116 mph is close to what you esc will allow. That max5 will limit the rpm and amp draw what that 4070CM-2200 can do. Don't expect 130mph. As @K-BASH showed, as soon as you put in an unrestricted ESC, all new kind of problems will arise. So am not necessarily saying you should, it should be a well thought out decision to take that path.

Will I be able to tell a noticeable difference when I run xlx2 today for 1st time compared to old mmx8s???????

The XLX2 fan will hardly work ;)
From what I can tell, it's the same architecture, the XLX2 is just a bit beefier. So it stays cooler and can take more amps. You won't notice a significant difference in top speed, unless you already found that sweetspot where the MMX8S gets too hot & ripplely and your motor+gearing is still willing to pull more amps.
