Arrma RC's
  1. Mojave 4s
Hey, I'm new to RC and bought Mojave 4s from 2hand for a good price then upgraded what I could. So sharing for motivation.

- The truck came already with:
HOBBYWING QUICRUN WP8BL150 G2 150A ESC
HOBBYWING QUICRUN 4274SL 2000KV G2 Motor (the motor is big in diameter so had to buy additional adapter for the center shaft bearing and move it away from the motor).
30KG servo
- MY UPGRADES:
Most parts are GPM - bought from ebay and aliexpress when everything was on sale.
Stainless Steel plates + nylon mesh cover
Batteries are GXF 9200mah - great batteries 2x set
Dumbo RC MX+RX with gyro. I like that I can adjust the amount of stabilization of the front to keep straight line when going fast and then turning it off when drifting. It also allows me to measure the voltage of the battery.
Together I paid around 600eur for the upgrades.

Stock weight of the base without body and battery 4150g now it's 5540g so 1400g difference. More suitable weight for the GPM shocks as they are for Sledge Monster Truck with +- the same weight.

*The added weight adds to the stability and ride quality. Rides way better than stock now and does not roll over so much.

Bought also BeGoodRich 1/7 tires and new body to paint so will update the thread later.

PS: Yeah I know you should not put everything aluminium on a plastic base but I don't care.

Happy bashing.

I put a mesh net on my first Arrma (Granite 3s) and quickly realized that it trapped way too much heat and limited air flow.

Using window screening would work just as good. DYI project. And cheaper. And better air flow.

Welcome to the forum.
The front and rear ends of the chassis net don't have to be closed all the way. They are in between the wheels and not much debris collects there. It's mostly the front wheels that throw all the dirt on top of the chassis. The ends stay remarkably clean. You can leave a gap there for air flow.

So finally today I've tried the car and it rides way better than stock. The reason is the added 1,2kg to the bottom makes it way more stable and won't roll over so easily now.

I have also added led bar 135mm (attached with zip ties) to the front and braking backlights to the rear - some drilling and screwing needed (they have 13 modes and very bright - you can have them still on or off either way they turn on RED when braking and then WHITE on reverse. ) - now I can ride all night :D

Also saved quite few bucks comparing to lights meant directly for mojave and these are even better. Just needs some DIY.

Will post some video from night riding later.

PS: Thx for the advice I'll keep an eye for the temp but I think there is enough airflow for now. It's not hot here where I live so don't even have to have the fans on yet. In the summer it will be different.
