I wish I could set up cameras to see bears. Currently I am setting up a Ring doorbell and backyard camera. Couple of people have tried to break into some houses. They are not even a 2 minute walk away

Yes, in my occupation I dealt with crackheads, prostitutes, junkies, gang-bangers, lesser thugs, and petty thieves in the geographic areas I frequented. I’ll take bears any day.

That’s fantastic! A good friend and I had a close encounter with a fairly aggressive and very large bear in Tahoe 8 years ago while walking back to the hotel from the casinos. We took a short cut through the woods and walked right into it. She kept trying to run and I kept holding her back saying ‘quit acting like food dammit!! Slow and easy girl, back away and no sudden movements.’ She was scared to death

I'm loving the conversation and the photos BUT as a lifelong city dweller I'd be scared as hell!!! I'm a little dude so I'd look like a nice snack for something that big. If it's big enough (or smart enough) not to fear me then I don't want it near me!! Hell I got into a staring match with a possum digging through a dumpster near my apartment building one night...the possum won!

Opossums are Mean!
I had to "take care" of one that decided to make a nest at our old place.. it put up a tough fight.

As a pest control operator for 20 years, I've trapped numerous coons, possum, squirrels and armadillo. Its the coons you have to worry about. They hiss and bark and go crazy. Carry a lot of rabbies as well. Those possums gotta be the ugliest animal alive! Lol.
