did you try heating the pinion? if i have a motor out of the car away from plastic ill hold a blowtorch on the pinion pointing away from the motor for about 4-5 seconds. usually does the trick.

A 2S 50C LiPO and a 17t pinion.

They are a very low quality esc, I would get a Hobbywing 10BL60, keep the motor though.
