@Corider I'd suggest checking out the Hakko Digital FX888D. For the price you'd be hard pressed to find something better. It'll cover all your RC and other soldering job needs.

I came here to say hakko. I don’t know the model but mine was ~$70 and worth every penny. It made soldering change from a nightmare to a fun task. I can’t speak highly enough. Has ceramic element gets super hot and makes putting the Heat in the joint quickly a cinch. 100% hakko

not sure if this is the same as the one from banggood, on massdrop it says 17W to 65W. do you have the link to the one from banggood ?

yes, i have been a massdrop user since about 18 months back and made several purchases from it over the period. usually 1 month wait or slightly less for me is pretty normal since i am outside the US. i don't recall any delivery from massdrop that took more than a month except a watch. but i anticipated that since prior notice was given on the site for the longer-than-usual logistic.

If not the same iron with a different name, it is very similar. Uses same STM32 chipset, and same short tips. The chart showing power output is about 3/4 down the banggood page.

I had been looking at the Banggood version as a field iron, seeing as it can be run off a 4s Lipo via XT60 connection. But I never hit the buy button. I have an old RadioShack 40w stick iron rolled up in bottom of my toolbox.
