My Ultima Build

Wasn’t going to build this kit yet, but after picking up my wife’s remains today, I really needed a pick me up. I built this in an afternoon. It was a smooth build, and just like Optima Mid, the quality of this kit is incredibly good.

I had every intention of painting the driver to look exactly like the pic on the box, orange suit and helmet, with decals. But….

Why have a normal racing driver in your buggy when you could have THE STIG!!!

Thanks! Decided yesterday to put Kyosho brushed systems in them so they have that vintage look. I’ll be ordering those this week.

Thanks, I’ve used this hobby to get through every rough spot I’ve ever had in my life. It’s never let me down.

I’m planning on getting this, only because I used to run Le Mans motors back when I raced my Ultima and Javelin.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. My heartfelt condolences brother.

You're really hitting my nostalgia nerve with these Kyosho builds. I used to race a JRX-2, later JRX-Pro on dirt oval in Cali. A buddy of mine had an Ultima, another guy had an RC-10 gold pan. The car of my dreams that I never did get (and is stupid money to try to put together today) was the Custom Works Dominator. Suffice it to say I'm really enjoying seeing you build the cars of my youth.
