Need Ideas for Sturdy Body Posts for a New Body

Glad you mentioned that. I have the proline mounts on my sons monster truck and the square posts are very flexible.

I bet you could get some solid plastic 8mm rod and drill your own holes. That may be the best solution.
Then come up with some sort of brace to connect them.
I have a couple sets of them. On one rig, to combat the too flexible Sq posts, I put the holes in the body a little too far back, creating a triangle effect, stiffening up the whole thing, like a gusset would. Works pretty good.

Yes, they do slide snuggly into the stock 6S mounting hole.

That’s almost what I did. I got CF glossy tube, 10mm OD / 8mm ID. I’ll put two standard Arrma body posts into the stock mount on the shock tower, slide the rods over them and drill it and screw it, build a CF horizontal plate/brace for the top, drilled for the 10mm tube on both sides, secure the plate to each side of the 10mm tube with clamping collars, and insert a standard Arrma 8mm body post into the carbon tube, which will be drilled at the top to secure the body posts. Confusing explanation for a simple solution! 😊
I would post a screenshot of the materials order, but I have to respect @N.Mango ’s mail thread, so will post it there instead.
Thanks to everyone for the help and inspiration, it’s gonna be awesome!

That’s almost exactly what I did, but with 10mm tube (8mm ID) sliding over the stock body posts so I could put a horizontal plate on top and secure it with clamping collars like you have there, with the 10mm tube passing through the top plate and the top Arrma body posts fitting directly in the tube. Thanks for the help, it’s going to work very well I think!

I was hoping someone knew of a solution for much higher body mounts. I’m keeping the existing shock towers (so can’t go taller there) but need to extend the posts quite a bit in fitting a new body. I don’t want to run a 4” (or so) body post because of the flex and lack of strength they would have. Do any other brands of RC use the same 8mm body posts like the 6s Arrmas? If so, I might be able to find something that would work from another brand. Nothing I’ve searched (for example, HPI Savage) lists any size specs except length. Neither does Arrma for that matter.
If anyone has any ideas I’m all ears.
Ideally, if anyone does know of other 8mm sized mounts out there I could search their brand offerings and probably find a solution.
Thank you, everyone!
Check proline, they sell body mounts that fit arrma vehicles. i just installed the screw on body mount kit cause i got tired of the clips that come on arrma vehicles.

They don’t make anything for the 6s cars, and even if they did I wouldn’t buy them. They’re kind of ok if the mounts are kept very short, but they flex waaaay too much when they’re longer. And it’s easy to lose the screw-caps. I tried them on a couple Slash trucks back in the day. Honestly, I hate them.
Thanks for the thought, though. I do appreciate it. I found a great solution, and they have literally zero flex. I’ll be posting them up soon.
