So got my granite blx used (broken) and fixed it up so it works and now my 4 year old has some trigger control but it's too much for him at this stage.
Sometimes the car gets away from him and so just a question of time until someone gets hurt.

So I'm looking for a transmitter/receiver combo where I can say:

If profile junior user 5% speed
If profile wife use 50% speed
If profile master use 100% speed

Does such a thing exist?

And even better if it can be mapped to a real button and not menu entries.

We only have one car, might add one or two more down the line at this stage and only the stx3 transmitter, which has a max setting of 50%. Which is still way to fast on 2s.

I'm flexible on a budget, but would like to stick to 100 - 200 dollars.

Thx.

I believe you can do this with the Radiolink rc6gs v3. I know for sure you can at the least change throttle epa in the menu and since the menu opens with the last setting highlighted you can do it in a few clicks. With that said, I also believe the v3 added the ability to map dual rates to a button/dial so you should be able to do it either way. Bonus, it's only like 80$ and one of the best radios for the money.

Thanks I check it out, but a quick look on Amazon says 50/100%. Which is sadly not enough. Maybe if I can reduce the punch, so he has more time to react.

My experience is pretty limited here because I jumped from the stocker stl3 right to the noble nb4. Great radio, quality feel & adjustability. Probably @ the upper end of what you mentioned you wanted to spend (around $200) but you can use it for 10+ different vehicles when the need arises & you should be able to assign throttle limits to any one of the many toggle or dial type knobs. I'm sure some more knowledgeable folks will chime in to help guide you

I'm not sure what you're looking at but you can literally set it from 1-120.

I've done exactly this with my Flysky Noble NB4. Due to its price and fancy screen, I'd recommend you put a lanyard on it for the little one to prevent drop damage.

Also, you'll need to find the best speed % to set for the youngster. 5% sounds good until you realize 5% isn't enough to make the car move. I think I used about 25% for my 5 year old (now 6!). Depending on the ESC and it's settings, lowering the throttle limit this far also has a negative effect on reverse to the point where the car will struggle to move depending on terrain.

Edit:
I should also mention that I setup the 100% throttle the way I wanted it and then copied that profile into other model memories and adjusted the max throttle, renaming the profiles like "Typhon 50%" and "Typhon 25%" for example. My kids have a habit of touching all the knobs and switches on the transmitter despite telling them not to. With the NB4, you can set all the buttons and switches to "None" so they can't change anything. Yes - you can setup the knobs to change the throttle and steering rate on the fly, but for a child thats still learning, it's best to remove their ability to get themselves in trouble.

You can use any radio that allows different model settings. Set up a model for each family member that has the desired throttle profile, and before you hand them the transmitter, select the model for them.

The Radiolink RC6GS V2 or V3 would be a great choice: the main difference between the two is the V2 has memory for 10 vehicles, and the V3 has memory for 20 vehicles. It's not easy for a youngster to change the model because you need to get into the menu to do so.
