I was browsing around ARRMA’s website yesterday grumbling to myself that the Mega 4x4 was still missing so I couldn’t easily get to the parts list for it. So, I went to the 3S Granite page to look up some part numbers, and look what I saw on the option parts page:

Full New slipper assembly: https://www.arrma-rc.com/part/ARA310949
Spur gear: https://www.arrma-rc.com/part/ARA310947
Slipper pads: https://www.arrma-rc.com/part/ARA310908

Am I taking crazy pills, or is this a redesign of the slipper system? Has this design been used in other ARRMA trucks before and I just don’t know it? I need someone to reality check me in case this is actually an old part that I somehow never noticed.

My guess is that the new slipper will be standard on the 4S rigs when they drop and optional for the existing 3s line. And no. It is not an old part. You aren't going crazy, lol!

So whats different about this slipper?? Only thing i see is its 4 pads instead of 3???

Other than the number of pads, the shape of the pads and the switch from 32p to 0.8 mod gears nothing that I can tell. Even though 32p and 0.8 mod gears work with each other.

Mostly it is the design of the pads and the fact that there is one more of them, but another thing I forgot to mention is that in the 'Option Parts' for the 3S Granite there is a new aluminum plate for the motor mount that has two slots instead of the previous versions set of holes for specific gears.

That slotted motor mount was listed about the same time as the metal diff gears and metal CVD's.
