Hi guys and gals just got my first Arrma RC and i am loving it!! The kraton wasn't really under my radar until they came out with the EXB moved all of my electronics from the slash to the EXB -MAX8 with the 2200KV motor with the stock 13t pinion gear and a Savox SC-1268sg high torque servo everything went smoothly i just hit a little snag when mounting the ESC i had to use 3m double sided tape and shaved the lip on the mounting plate so it sits flush.Screw holes are not lining up so its just being held by the double tape and a zip tie,Also un-bolted the cable organizer and utilized it better as seen on the picture.
Question?? whats a good pinion for my set up that can do everything?? a 19 or 20?? TIA

I think stock motor is normally 2250 and runs a 15t. It overheats though so 15 and fans seems the way to go with good speed still

How come it looks like the kraton has mojave towers but on arrmas website there is a clear difference between the mojave and kraton towers? Am I seeing something wrong here?

I was way off. The motor I did know was 2050 but the pinion I really thought was 15 for some reason. Sorry.

My buddy just got the same setup for his EXB. At 2200kv and he's dropping in the 14T. I wouldn't run anything over a 15T and even then you'll want some motor cooling.
Dang it shoulda done more reading just got the 20t ordering the 14t now, thanks.

I’m thinking putting in the spectrum 160 esc motor combo any figment issues in the exb??
Also thinking 15 to 17 pinion on this esc motor combo any thoughts have been out of the hobby for some time but this roller looks Like the way to go

What can size is that motor? Looks like maybe a 4068 short can? FWIW, the V1 motor for the Kraton (which I ran for a long time) was a 4068 2050kv, so that motor size will work. It pushed my Kraton great, but liked to run hot. I ran it with a 14t pinion, and temps were often in the 150f range. When I upgraded to my current 4075 2050kv motor (BLX200), I didn't gain any speed, but the truck did gain a bit more 'snap' - wheelies easier now.

The stock motor is a 4074 2050kv, and for most people, can only run 14t-16t without overheating. If that motor is smaller and higher KV, it will overheat easier.

14t may be a good place to start, be be ready to drop to a 13t or 12t to keep heat under control. At 2200kv, you will have similar speed on the 12t as a stock runnier on a 14t, so it should not be slow.

If you really want to run a 20T, you will need a big block motor, either a 4985 or a 4092.

Thanks that's good to know i have a 14t incoming in a few and see how the 4274 handles the 6S but for sure the 4985/4092 is in the wish list.

Hi Y'all! late to the conversation but I have a question and hope you guys can shed some light! ive got an EXB coming and purchased an Castle Creations 1515 combo with the 2200kv motor and monster x esc, is this system too weak for the EXB? should I return it and buy the 1717 combo? i keep hearing that waht i chose will run hot ! thanks in advance and thank you for having me as a new member!

I think you would be better off with the 1717, but the 1515 could be used with lower gearing and motor fans. It surely won’t have the same power and speed as the 1717/MMX8S combo. But it can technically be used.

The new exb towers are redesigned... they are now making both exb versions of the new towers (red 7075) and also the old V4 style is avail for preorder as well now. Hope that answers your question ✌???
