It was put together wrong. If the blades are breaking the fan is too tight and the cover with the “x” on it is hitting the blades. The screws of the fans when over tighten sink into the caps and in worst case cause a fire. There’s another similar thread a couple months old with the same failure and it seemed the screws breaking into the caps was the issue. Castle knows of this and has since corrected it in the newer products. When I bought mine I did away with the stock fan and took a mm or so off the end of the screws to be safe.
Sorry for this failure and sincerely hope it gets taken care of under warranty. Mine has been a real good performer in the k8s.

UPDATE: Castle has replaced the unit under warranty and is sending me a new unit.
