Do I buy a new jet for competitions or wait till I’m sponsored and just get a new truck (2000-2006 4wd Chevy Silverado) that can hall a trailer and all my planes to events. This is the jet I’ve been eyeing

I say get the new truck IF you need one. Wait till your sponsored for the jet cuz you have enough planes. 😆 If you don't need a truck, then don't buy anything. Take your wife to dinner. If you don't have a wife, do not get one. I'm sorry,..I'm so tired cuz I took an edible.

I Really do but that jet is looking pretty nice but if I get the sponsorship from horizon that I’m trying to get they’ll pay for the planes so maybe the truck is a good idea right now

Set your priorities!

Competitions, sponsorships and big money jets?! 😳
Did I miss something…? Last few planes you posted were in pieces..
When did you become an ACE? 🤔

I’ve been flying some pretty big money planes recently and have been getting pretty good, the only thing i have been struggling with is mechanical failures
Speaking of big money planes… I’m picking up an 80” yak tomorrow

WoW! Good for you bud! 👌

Tough call then I guess. If all your priorities are in order, go with your gut. 😎

I wouldn’t be nearly as successful as I am in the hobby of it wasn’t for the people around me like members of my club and people like you @Hammer Down after my motor died a while back I was considering selling my car and would of never got to this point

Ok..I just read your other thread and found out your truck gets the gas mileage of a cement truck on its side so definitely get a truck with better mileage. If your pulling your trailer of planes all over the country then you continue to save dollars.
Way to go Hammer!!

Buddy bought himself a trailer for his Dodge Challenger SRT 700+ hp. He hooks it to his campervan to be a bit more mobile. And when he takes some more planes to our flying field for the weekend he takes the trailer. Necessary - nope. Fun - seems so.

Sponsorship are only interesting for sponsors if you have your own big social media following or YT channel with consistent views. Which means you are actively posting. That's where the leverage is for them. Basically they divide cost of sponsorship / views you can get them. And if that brings them clients (tricky to measure as it's hard to track). And if that figure is worth the money compared to other advertising and pay-per-click advertising. That makes you interesting or not for a sponsorship. You just have to be realistic about that. Good flying skills are just one part of what's needed. RC sponsorships are mostly not even on a break-even level when you include cost of travel and motel.
