Yes sir! Saved myself a bunch of money deanodizing stock parts. Time consuming, but worth it. Limitless shocks will be here Thursday.

Limitless shocks came today for my Typhon build. Red didn’t last long, deanodized 10 minutes after I unpackaged them.

Some goodies came today! Still gotta ways to go though. Fitting this combo is gonna take a little patience. ESC will go with some mods to the stock plate and I guess I’m gonna shorten the motor wires and solder on new bullets. Can’t say Castle doesn’t give you long enough motor wires, they won’t fit under the body without strapping them down. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Getting close! Took everything back apart and hit all my metal/metal with TL, got my mesh set, ran all wiring, and installed my cap pack.

Castle gives you plenty of length on the motor wires, but the dam sensor wire is too short. Gotta order a 250mm or 300mm.

Thanks, I’ve been at it for a while. I’m definitely gonna take it easy! Should be doing some shakedown runs in the next week or so.

Well, got the sensor cable figured out. My LHS had a 275mm. Also picked up a clear Typhon 6s body and a couple cans of paint. Gotta support your LHS!

They had some 8000mAh 120C SMC V2 packs! Wow, they were huge! $180

So the good news is, I found a better spot to run. The 190mph Limitless GT run was a local and done 15min away from where I live.

I guess I gotta build a limitless next! Don’t plan on posting any passes that fast, I’m gonna take my Infraction out later today for some passes. The Typhon still has a couple of weeks before it hits the streets. I need some tires, better lipos, and waiting on my castle link before I start testing.

Whomp whomp! I finally got out this morning to the new spot. I guess the Spektrum 160A/1250kv system isn't gonna work. So my top speed was 81.7mph on twin 3s Hoovo 5200mAh 80c packs. RC Car Calculator estimate speed is 99.9mph. So the good news is that the pinocchio spool that I made works perfectly. (first run on it) Well I'll explain a little and keep in mind I'm just starting speed runs. (rookie) I really just wanted to test the new spool I built, but as we all know I couldn't resist trying to send it. Nice smooth pulls and once I got to full throttle it seemed like the ESC would just cut out. Then once I turned around it would just cut out for a few seconds and start back up. Temps were good to the touch. I forgot my temp gun, must be in my other truck.

So I guess my question is! (sorry I'm sure most of these are answered in other threads)

1. Is it my batteries?
2. Am I maxing the ESC?
3. Do I and can I add a cap pack to the Spektrum 8s system?
4. What am I missing?

Sorry don't wanna be a pain, just looking for some guidance! Thanks in advance!

I think your batteries are part of the issue. I’ve taken a very similar setup (mine is a V1) to 117mph before amp limiting, so you can probably squeeze more out of it.

Well I’m gonna change the LVC and timing settings and give er another shot tonight or early tomorrow. 6s first and then maybe 8s. Those batteries are pretty cheap too. All my batteries are cheapos for bashing. I’ve got some cnhl’s on the way!

Settings made a difference! Turned punch all the way down, timing all the way up, and lvc to the lowest setting.

1st pass on 6s I got airborne! Minimal damage! Lost another fan, scuffed the body and some scuffs on a couple wheels. $hit!

2nd pass on 6s 91mph, drove it back.

3rd pass on 8s 105mph, drove it back. Motor an ESC were getting hot, so I packed it up.

Finally broke 100mph! Wow, it’s an adrenaline rush! (Hands were shaking) I can only imagine how the guys doing 150+ feel after a run.

So I don’t know the official rules, but I’ve entered the 100mph club. ( even if it’s my own club) Sorry I don’t have a GoPro and wouldn’t know the first thing about uploading a vid to YouTube. Anyway I’m pretty Psyched! Spool still holding up like a champ too!

So my CNHL lipos arrived today, but still no Castle link. The link supposedly shipped on 6/29, no clue what’s taking so long.

Well on to the next dilemma, why the heck does Castle give such short wires. Looks like I’m gonna need to make myself a jumper to go from my ESC to the lipos. Batteries will only fit one stacked on the other with stock tray. Only other option would be to buy the HR tray.

So am I missing something? What have you done yourself to fix this issue or seen others do? Make Y cable to extend/run parallel with stock tray or HR tray and spin lipos! Thanks in advance for any ideas/info!

So HR battery tray and some s4 GRP's ordered. The HR tray will give me more options on battery size and fitment. Hopefully my Castle link comes today and maybe next weekend the Typhon will finally get some test runs.

Typhon color change paint reveal! Spaz Stix green/purple/teal color change paint with Tamiya smoke spray windows. Had to post some pics, turned out nice! Possibly add some stickers!
