I don't know why, but of my 3 ARRMAs, the Raider destroy's the most parts...

Today blew off/up 3 of the 4 shocks, both front and 1 rear shock cap blew off, on top of that it had horrible handling going off any form of a ramp. For the most part it would ride the bottom plate up the ramp and at launch simply nose down or roll down every time.

The front shocks are alot shorter than similar vehicles, so after some searching what I ordered was a full set of Traxxas aluminum shocks (4760 for front and 4761 for rear) and I'll use some fuel tubing placed on the inside of the shock rod to limit shock length. For springs I just ordered a set of the Integy MSR9 assortment so I can trial and error the best spring rate.

It ended up being about the same price as just getting a set of the big-bores like I did for the fury but that only included one set of springs designed for the slash which are too long on the Raider. I could use the MSR9 springs on the big-bores but would need to also order a set of traxxas 'regular' lower spring retainers, so it was just cheaper to order the aluminum ultras (non-big-bore) and springs.

Should be here in appx a week, I'll follow up with pics when done, just wondering if anyone else has made replacements?

Looking forward to hearing how these work! Since going to a stronger motor on my Raider I've noticed the shocks running almost fully compressed. Definitely need to change something to get it right!

And yes, I've blown caps off the front and rears. Not fun cleaning up the oil all over everything!
