Wondering if anyone has an opinion on this. I just received my kraton 6s yesterday. I bashed with it for probably close to an hour then it started to get very slow. Had fresh out of the box 3s batteries. I just assumed it ran out of juice. Got it back inside and the motor was hot like very hot to the touch. So I let it cool down for a few hours then tried to put 2 2s batteries in and it was still moving very slow. The 2s's I put in we're also fresh out of the package had maybe 10-15 of run time on them. I just assumed they too were just low on power skip to this morning I went to charge one if the 3s battery's and my charger just quit working. So now with most of the information what are the chances I fried the motor or something like that?

I would assume it's the batteries.
Do you have a way to check the batteries?

No not until my new charger gets here tomorrow but I'm sweating until then 😅
Yea that sucks! Sorry to hear.
I hope I'm right about it being the batteries.🤞

Oh and...

Thanks man and yeah I'm new enough to the hobby I didn't even know their was a battery checker I thought the charger just checked it when you tried to charge I'll have to look into one though forsure

A bunch of checkers out there. You don't need a fancy one but any is a good thing to have. (y)

When did it get hot? How hot? A temp gun is a good thing to snag, but a rough finger test gives a ball park. Does it instantly scorch your finger? Too hot. Is it uncomfortable but can keep a finger on it? Good.
Bad lipos wouldnt create a hot motor, it would create a warm lipo. Hot motor is from a motor working too hard due to resistance or improper gearing. Since its new, Id guess gearing isnt an issue. If you ran hard for an hour, yea, motor might be hot even in the best of circumstances though.

In the meantime, check over a few other things. Is there any rolling resistance when pushing by hand? When rolling, the only real resistance should be the motor. The only noise should be the motor turning over and some light gear noise. There should not be a hitches or grinding. Test each wheel by itself, does it spin more or less freely? Anything stuck in the driveline? Excessive drivetrain resistance will cause a hot motor and poor runtime.

If your charger checks internal resistance (IR), check it and let us know the values of each cell. It gives a clue as to the lipos health/quality. If you still suspect the lipos are a problem, discharge the batteries on the charger to ~3.6v per cell and recharge slowly. Compare mah put in vs the rated pack size.

The 3s were OVONIC 3S LiPo Battery 11.1V 5200mAh 120C and the 2s were Zeee 5200mah 80c and yes both new and I just bought a temp gun to keep on hand as well also a fan for the motor kind of crazy I thought it would have came stock with one but guess not

Neither of thoes are great, but should by perfectly usable. You may need to drop 2 teeth on the pinion to keep them happy. The new charger will tell more of the story about how the batteries are holding up.

Forgot to reply after I got the new charger but the motor was fine installed the fan on it temps are staying down but had a new problem the seconds run my stock servo shorted causing a crazy problem of the esc restarting ever time you would turn the wheel on the transmitter so I just fixed that today thanks for all the replies
