Although I consider my first attempt to reinforce a body by better means than Goop and fibretape a success, it was limited by cold weather. See:

https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/chronicles-of-a-senton-noob.29695/

Being in Canada, this simply wouldn't do. Time to think outside of what I had in stock in my garage. This time, I presented my dilemma to some off roading buddies. And got some great feedback.

I stuck with the stiff nylon mesh. But instead of merely using reinforcing strips, its placed throughout the body, twice. And the weight was kept lower than my last reinforcing attempt. I also made use of Proline body skids, but modified the rear parts to accommodate the one spot Senton takes the most damage, the rear upper fenders.

So, I had one limitation the first time around; the nylon is stiff and wants to pull back to its original flat state. I countered the stiffness by placing pieces in boiling water for a couple minutes, shaking off and pressing it into the body while still hot. But before I did that, I used a spray adhesive designed for extreme heats and guaranteed to adhere to polycarbonate plastics(will adhere to pretty much everything, its a mechanics version of crazy glue). This adhesive is like contact cement in the way its applied and bonded. I also used a spray on asphalt undercoating(its chemical composition allows it to work with the adhesive, and vice versa). The adhesive works so well that I could only clean up with gasoline. Tried wearing gloves and they stuck to the body. Had to cut them off the body and finish bare handed. After adhesive dried, I sprayed a coat of undercoating and repeated the process when dried.

Next I drilled out post holes and positioned skids, marked holes and drilled out. Faced a delimma with rear skids. I wanted them to wrap around but they were solid stiff plastic. So I pulled out the trusty heat gun and slowly heated and shaped it. Only to face another problem. It interfered with light placement. Solution? Make the upper rear light housing the bolt that holds the skid in place. Drilled out the bolt to the housing thread thickness. Then counter drilled halfway to allow the housing to sink into the skid.

Covid had me doing without for 8 months. Usually I always have family coming and going so I get a steady supply of cases. Newfoundland on lockdown and making it hard to get quality brew.
