Newly announced 1/6 Rlaarlo speed car

What in the world!!! This came from Rlaarlo via email.
I thought Ted was just a movie. Had no idea he was actually running an RC company.

It sounds like this will be another FG model sport 1/5 car that is killer looking and something everyone will want to own.
However, due to price point and cost of replacement parts they likely wont get one and will never be great for speeds over 100 mph.

I’m still waiting for the on road rc car that runs shifter kart tires! There is far more money in Karting than RC so their tire tech is far superior and probably won’t blow at 200mph.

Johnny Crash Racing does make adaptors for Primal RC Monster Trucks, so there is a path to convert 24mm hex wheel hubs. Those rim tire combos weigh about 6lbs a wheel, so a few HW Max4 combos will get them spinning fast.

I’m just saying why break an ankle when you crash into yourself when you could snap your leg off from the knee down with this type of power. YouTube clips to follow…

their English isn’t always the best but they mean well 😂 basically he was trying to say that there is no budget for the investment they are putting into this project.

Last nights meeting we shared exterior design choices,
And I shared the 1988 Jaguar Le Mans car which I love when I was younger.
The close rear wheel design in nice and streamline.

We also argued our points on the size of the vehicle. Which I believe will be now brought to a public vote. I know what size the company wants and also if it’s publicly voted then it will be 1/6, however I believe that’ll price the car out of the market for a lot of buyers when they see the price.
I voted for a 1/7 with an optional extended chassis “kit” for extreme speed.

I think what maybe isn’t fully understood is that they want to build a worlds fastest rc car contender which will not be possible with a 1/6 scale now especially with the current market. Some of the companies working on the best tires in the world have no want to build a 1/5 platform tire which is why the 1/5 scale world record is 149 still with most of the consistent numbers being around 130. The 1/5 scale grp tires available are square hex and require adapters and also cannot hold a higher speed then that.
The run size they are considering for the 1/6 is 125-130mm.
Take into account that the current 200 mph passes are being made with the bsr tires shaved down to 93-97mm there’s a good size difference there so it would be extremely difficult to fit the current 1/7-1/8 platform wheels on a 1/6 and make it work.
Even if Rlaarlo builds a quality wheel, the updated weight of the 1/6 scale car plus 2 large 8-12s systems to power it will cause hex stripping issues very fast.

Whatever they decide it will be a cool car I am sure of it. The folks in charge of the project have a big love for motorsports heritage and I’m excited to see what comes of it

Nice looking car. I like how Rlaarlo uses real body designs that I have racing story behind them instead of making their own fiction one. Also, I guess it's free Airo testing since they are making a body out of a proven style. Mazda 787b and Porsche 917 what's next!

this could be SICK!

but, rlaarlo has a poll going to pick the livery for a MT.
this could be a MT and he had a typo.
I think that would be awesome!! I love the 10th scale speed car a did a review on it and thought it was amazing!!. On my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@garywynegarsvikingrc843
I would love to review the new 1/6 scale speed car too thank you for the awesome cars and can’t wait for the new one!! LET’S GO!!!!

Here’s an overview of the first couple group meet session we had the last couple weeks. With that said, James , Raz and Vincent can’t continue with the project because it violates some of their prior agreements with other companies But we got a couple other experienced guys coming in to help continue the project.

And yes next years speed competition will have 100,000$ in cash and prizes !!!!

$100K!!!! (How dose that work tax wise?)
It worked out for you since you don't have any "prior agreements".
Wow, when did that come out?
I think they make it in 3 sizes now. lol

The voice almost sounds AI generated so I think some of that is just the translation.

It is AI, Edison doesn’t speak very good English, I’ve talked with him a lot to know we work thru a language barrier. So they use Ai to translate some of his speaking

Well it will be 100k but to different people. Maybe 20k top prize for the fastest, 10k for 2nd.
Taxes thru PayPal only applies over a certain amount which I didn’t have to worry about when I won 5k but for 20k that might change. Its either 20k or 40k you have to report to the government thru PayPal on all goods and services transactions
Can you explain how they were allowed to be there in the 1st place but now not allowed to go any further?
I honestly don’t want to get into it to much since it’s not my business. Raz stepped out from the start, he hasn’t participated at all, James and Vincent did the first meeting and after the meeting realized it may be an issue so they contacted the other companies they work with, so they didn’t get themselves in hot water. It was quickly realized at that point they couldnt participate.

I have a lot of experience and will help guide the project in the right direction. I have no doubt in that. I do believe Rlaarlo already has their mind made up on some things tho.

That will be interesting for sure. That prize money will help bring people in.

Get That Money Reaction GIF
From what I can tell they will hold a couple seperate categories one keeping the rtr components
And then one totally unlimited class

What currency is the prize money in? If it is 100,000 Japanese Yen, I wouldn't worry about taxes since that is ~$662 in freedom dollars.
Then you will only have to pay taxes on $62.00 dollars. I think the first $599.99 is clear of US taxes.:giggle: Don't quote me. But I think the newTax law is the $600. USD limit.
