So before I even run this thing are there any must have things I should check on? I always try and check screws where ever I can see or reach them. Full disassembly required? Also, what if any parts are must have purchases, rod ends? Thanks.

Keep a few bags of the these on hand:

A bag of each of these:

And that's all I keep for my "in the field" minor repairs. Other than that, you just replace what you break in a bad wreck.

Added to wish list for next order. Yikes, the rod ends and ball joints are out of stock till late January.

I didn't tear anything down or tighten any screws when I got mine. I just ran it. The only screw you may want to check for tightness after your first few runs is the one that connects the steering linkage to the servo arm. That is the only one that ever fell out for me and it's a pretty common issue from what I hear. You can access it without taking any covers off or anything so it's easy enough if you remember to do it.

Look on ebay for them. I get parts from a place called rcparts4you. They tear down new cars and sell the whole assemblies cheaper than a bag of a couple parts. But if you're not Jumping or being crazy, you can probably last til January. Put them on backorder. Tower and ARRMA are all part of the same company so they get their parts restocked fast.

In regards to the rod ends, I would go with these:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGDRX&P=ML

They are the new HD ones. They are currently in stock and I figure if you are going to break something...might as well upgrade it. I have a couple of sets of these but I haven't broken my original ones yet...knock on wood.

Oh right on. Yeah I'm a fan of upgrading if I can as things break. Thanks. Are there other HD parts are available for the Nero currently? I'm also seeing diff outdrives and wheel axle universal joints.

They make HD U-Joints but upgrading all four corners costs a lot. I get parts like that from this guy:

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Arrma-Nero-BL...-Diff-Outdrive-Joint-/152262219480?nav=SEARCH

They don't break very often and you could replace quite a few before you bought a single pair of the HD U-Joints. Not to mention, the set I linked comes with a ton of other parts.

Yeah....I get stuff from that guy too. There are a few quality sellers on ebay. You can keep an eye out for the Big Rock drive shafts. Those are the ones that are HD.

Well I've only had my Kraton for 3 days and I already want another Arrma! I was going to buy a 1/8 CC combo for my Slash 4x4, but in order to do that I'll have to upgrade a ton of parts for it to handle that power. It hit me tonight when adding up all the upgrades that it would be cheaper to just buy a new Arrma Senton instead.

How is the Senton as far as trophy trucks go? I really like the Typhon as well. Any suggestions on which to go with? The Typhon looks a lot like the Kraton under the hood so maybe the Senton would be something different. Thanks for any suggestions guys :)
I've modified the Slash 4x4 and a Stampede 4x4 and that money would have been better used elsewhere. Buy another arrma....

Wish dollar hobby had more Arrma stuff.

I received an order from rcparts4you and the return address on the package said dollarhobbyz. FYI. Great Guys!

I used to buy alot from dollar hobbies then the prices went up a lot. Especially Traxxas stuff. I have a feeling some of the OEM's don't really like to feed the eBay chopshop it puts pressure on parts sales.

On what planet is a nero $350 i just paid $1500 for nero with dif brain and batteries in Australia there must be a better way

Folks in Australia always take a beating on hobby stuff. My other hobby is Warhammer 40,000 and players in Australia tend to pay two to three times more for kits as supplies than people anywhere else in the world. I don't know if it's a shipping issue or a tax issue but you guys get hosed.

Planet United States of America. I can get the brainless Nero right now for $330. You need a friend here to buy one for you and then ship it to you. No way shipping costs many hundreds of dollars. At least you live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and the Aussie Woman are gorgeous.
