Kraton Not how I wanted my Xmas and New Years to go

Not how I wanted my Xmas and New Years to go. But the Spektrum 2050Kv had other ideas. It'll sit in it's box until I can afford to buy a replacement motor. Don't get much to spend from my Disability after I've paid my bills.

Any suggestions on a better motor? Currently has a Hobbywing 3-6s 150 amp ESC.

Sometimes I really HATE this hobby

But, on a positive. I did make a Y harness to try out 6s.

That has happened to me too. It's super frustrating.
Possible it's still under warranty?
Possible to clean/repair motor?
New motor $38 on Jennys.

I doubt that it's still under warranty. I bought it, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, (I don't know) hand. But I did message the guy I got it from. He's sending me a Hobbywing 4274 2200Kv motor. As he felt bad. So that's pretty awesome.

What died with the motor?

Not sure. It just started glitching. I took it out of the Kraton, and it did exactly the same on the workbench. Then I heard a lovely electrical spark noise, and that was it. End of motor.

But the guy I got it from is sending me a Hobbywing 4274 2200Kv. So that's pretty awesome.

never had that happen with a motor has it seized or a connecter come loose have you checked the inside of the motor and the bearings

I've got a new Hobbywing 2200Kv coming. But I will check the internals. The connectors were all good.

Can you still turn the motor by hand? I hope that ESC is OK. Good luck with the repairs.

I like to check that's all see what's gone wrong mite save some money if you were having to buy another motor just saying. I've had these motors for years and the only problems I've had is connectors coming unsoldered and seized a few in the summer months but that was my fault years ago not running fans and too much throttle hope you get it sorted

Curious about the stock motor too. Does it spin free by hand? Did it overheat? What was the gearing you were running? Keep in mind that HW 2200 will be spinning even faster than the stock motor too, if overgeared youcan kill it even quicker. Temp gun? Best of luck brother

I'm 56 about to turn 1 year older
I was just a little rough on my body in my teens,20's, 30's AND 40's. Had a ton of fun and laughs, quite a few ER romps

Who doesn't have a few loose screws these days???? I know I've got 2 or 3!?!?!? I think could be more
I have a wrench for that. Just keep forgetting the loctite

ESC is ok. Hooked another motor up to it.
