So I bought a brand new Tamiya F350 high-lift through an Instagram auction from a lhs. This kit is intense. 3 speed transmission and 4 wheel steering out of the box. Build went like this:
Stage 1. Build the transmission

Stage 2. Assemble the ladder type frame and install leaf spring and shock hangers.

Stage 3. Build and install difs and axles, mount the leaf springs (medium weight setting) and instal cvd driveshafts.

Stage 4. Install dampers. They're not oil filled (internal spring) and I'll likely upgrade later. Attached and connected servos for steering and the 3 speed transmission plus added the crazy a$$ front bush bar.

Very cool J...going brushless in the future???🤣😂
If I did, it would have to be a very gentle set up. That transmission looks like it can only handle so much. They actual put a warning in the manual saying not to use anything different than similar to the stock one. What's more important now, is to find a trailer so I can haul my speed cars to the starting line.

You need a speedcar tow rig....
I need a speedcar tow truck...
😆😅🤣😂🤣😅😆

That's it! The truck is ready and rolling. Body is out being painted, so it's not complete, but it's mobile and I got to test it. First impressions. Gonna lock the rear steer. It's fun but once you get up near a wall, good luck getting away. Also gonna lock the rear dif. The difs are way to soft and climbing is almost impossible with both difs open. The transmission is fine in first and second gear, but high gear seems to just slip. Could be the difs cause once it gets going, she moves. The battery tray is rounded, so a lipo seems out of the question. The tires look tiny, but I'll re-evaluate once the body is on. There's still lots to do to mount the body, but for now, most of the technical parts are done.

While the body is out being painted, I decided to switch out the plastic wheels for these nice, deep dish copper ones. Stock tires for now until I see it with the body on.

Nice build.

I hate that Tamiya uses any plastic gears.
Only in the transmission. The difs are metal, albeit the cheapest white metal I've ever touched. Should be good as a crawler. Third gear full trigger is actually way faster than I'd want for this type of truck. Gonna be fun though.

Built a trailer using shaved down 6s front hubs and reversed some cheap wheels to compensate for the offset. Baller gonna be a hauler

One of the coolest builds I have seen lately.
What a gem there.

🎶My name is Johnny, I've got an Arrma, I've got an Arrma shiny and new🎶

Why do I hear this to the tune of Duran Duran's Rio?
The original song is "my name is Michael, I've got a Nickel, I've got a nickel shiny and new". Don't even know why I know the song, I just do🤦🏻‍♂️
