I got a new Outcast 6s body for my swb Talion project. I wanted to show my take on how to achieve the "real steel" effect but also make the body look like a old work truck.
Step 1 paint new body silver on the inside.
Step 2 scuff up the outside so there is no shiny spots.
Step 3. You can do a solid color here if you want the real steel effect. This is where I added some copper and red paint randomly for the rusty look under the body color.

This is my first attempt at using the water and salt method making the paint look more weathered.

Nicely done! The beauty of this method, is that any scuffs that happen from bashing, will still look natural. I have used the salt method on models kits many years ago, but never seen it used on an RC. (y)

That is custom tough!!! ARRMA IS KILLIN IT....Well done from what I see. I agree with DOOM who cares about a scuff or 100. Good Job.

I painted it myself with Tamiya ps paint.
Silver on the inside everything else on the outside. I scuff the outside of the body with scotch Brite before painting and after the copper/ red coat. Then wet sand with #600 & #1500 paper to get weathered effect. I let each color dry thoroughly before next color to prevent tape fro. Peeling of paint.
