Have a gen one outcast that has been setting for some time. Using it again and there are a bunch of updates made. One I need help with is the red bar down the middle. What parts are needed for the conversion. Have bar and mounts but cannot figure where the mounts go in the gen one. Looks like a few parts need changed, not sure which ones. Can anyone give me advice and/or good pictures from a current production. Fun truck, trying to make it live longer. Any advice is much appricated.

That is what it looks like, with Gen one to be expected. Looks like it might take upgrades on shock towers and maybe diff cases. It will run as is with updates when needed. Thanks for your input.

There are only two things that need to be replaced to add the tower to tower brace. If you can wait until later tonight I can get some pictures for you. My Outcast used to be a V1.

Fantastic. Waiting and watching. Thanks

You will need a 2.0 and a 2.5 hex preferably a quality driver not allen keys.

Do note that I have a lot of aftermarket parts on mine so some of my items will look a little different, but the process is the same.

We will start with the rear because that is the easiest.

Remove the wing mount.
There are 2 screws here both are 2.5 hex. Be carful not to loose the plastic spacers that go between the wing mount and the rear chassis brace.

Then remove these 2 screws, being a V1 they are more likely 2.0 hex button head screws.

Now we need to remove this black plastic piece by removing the 2 2.0 hex screws.

Once you have that removed you will put this piece in it's place. Arrma part number ARA320500.

Then reinstall the wing mount. The larger spacer goes on what would be the passenger side of the vehicle.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDD now for the fun part, the front. This is a bit more involved than the rear.

First remove the front mud guards. Should be 2 2.0 button head screws(mine are socket heads just so you don't get confused if yours looks different) 2 screws per mud guard.

Remove the 6 clips on the screws holding in the upper a arms using a needle nose pliers, there should be 4 thin ones and 2 thick ones. Remember the thin ones go towards the rear of the vehicle and the thick ones go towards the front.

20220527_003131.jpg

Now remove the 2 long 2.5 screws holding in the front upper a arms.

20220527_003507.jpg

Remove the 3 screws circled in blue they are 2.0 button heads.
Then you are going to want to heat up the screws circled in yellow, best bet is to use a soldering iron and just hold it on the screws for about a minute or so. You should smell Arrmas special thread lock once it starts to melt. If you do not do this it is a major pain in the you know what trying to get those screws out as odds are the bottom screws with loosen then the steering posts will just spin........ Use a 2.5 hex to remove these.

The front top plate should not come off. And you should be looking at this.

20220527_005759.jpg

Flip it over and remove the 1 2.0 button head screw. The black plastic piece that was on top should come off.

20220527_010406.jpg

Replace that black plastic piece with this piece Arrma part number ARA320500

20220527_010955.jpg

Reassemble in reverse order.

20220527_012156.jpg

Finally install the T2T brace screws are M4x22mm.

Hope this helps. Good thing I did this, I found a few parts that were bent/broken while I was in there.
