I’m trying to print the lettering a different colour to the base.

Steps I do using Cura 4.11.0
- Slice the Object
- Go into Preview and find the Layer where the lettering starts coming through
- Go into Extentions, Post Processing, Modify G-Code
- Add a script, Change to Layer in Pause at box. Enter layer number. Change standby temperature to 200*C
- Hit the Slice button

Not sure why she’s not pausing.
Any tips will be appreciated 😎

For single extruder, I think you want to:
Choose: "Pause at Height" ; then in -Pause at- choose "Layer Number" ; input your layer.

NOTES:
You'll probably want to pause a layer Before where you really want the color/filament change, so the printer has time to purge the previous color out a bit as it resumes printing..

Yeah done that. Then hit slice.
I’m trying it on 5.0 ATM.

This may help, Its what I used to do a multi color print

I watched it this time.
Bed came forward, printer head got out of the way for 3 seconds and then came back and started printing the letters 🤬🤬

Take a screenshot of the G-code settings and let's take a closer look..

Okay.
Looking at the settings you probably want to set that Retraction back some -to 50mm so you can pull the filament out.

Also, let's look at the actual G-code itself..
You can open it up in Notepad and do a search to see if the admitted 'Pause' code actually got inserted..
Look for a "M0" command. Let us know if you see it.

Yeah I opened the G code up in 365. I couldn’t quick search to layer 25 and started looking manually but it was taking forever so I sent the print again with the same settings the bloke had on Dutches post.

Open your Gcode in Notepad or Notepad++ (free download) and do a Ctrl-F to do a search for M0 (that's M Zero)

Not sure where to go from here. Layer 25 does not come up. Do i need to be in a different section to see the Gcode?

no.

I'm not sure why you're opening up a change.log ...

You should open up the file that you are going to send to your 3D printer.. Whatever you named your gcode is what you should open with Notepad++ and then do the search to see if the pause code is actually in the file.

Not sure whats going on with that Notepad ++. Opened this up in Notepad

Okay,
That's right.

But, I don't see the M0 code to tell your printer to actually pause.

Right..

That's because the M0 code is not in your gcode from what I can see of the section of code you posted.
You can try to manually insert it in..

See how your printer does with that.

Finally got it sorted.
Apparently the Ender V2’s will not pause with the Extension settings in Cura.
Had to change the Method, add a M300 before pause and delete a line in the G code.
Not sure why they just don’t update the firmware 🤷‍♂️

Nice! No experience with cura but this is super easy in prusaslicer. Find the layer, choose color change, done.

Printer pauses at that layer and unloads filament. Load new filament and click go.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy as my kid likes to say.

P.S. What will that white arrow point toward? Trash can? The exit? An annoying coworker?
