I picked up this used V2 Infraction as a roller. It will be the base for the build.

This will be my first drag build so there’ll be a lot of learning along the way. Considering I’m gonna be using an TP4070cm motor, which is 107mm in length, it won’t fit in the original location. To accommodate this long I’m gonna flip the motor mount. It’s awesome that Arrma has holes Pre-drilled for this.

As you can see one of the battery trays needs to be removed, as well as the e-brake with mounting brackets. Still trying to figure out the layout but here’s where I’m at currently.

While I have the 30t pinion and 34t limitless spool in there now, Im gonna go with a 39t spool and 25t pinion and see what numbers I can get.

On a non-performance note, I bought a clear body and will try a sorta metallic blue type paint job with some silver and black accents. I’ll be using Tamiya PS-49 Sky Blue, PS-63 Bright Gun Metal, and PS-5 Black.

Hoping the color will turn out like this. (Note: this is not my image but one I found while searching google.

To try and help keep things straight I put in a scorched diff locker in the front (this is an older version). A couple weeks after I received this one they came out with a newer version with stronger cups and more sleek locker.

1million wt diff fluid for the rear until I get a locker for that one too.

Painting completed. However, might go buy another can of bright gunmetal to back it some more.

Also test fit the PPS motor mount.

What type of drag hits are you preparing for? What voltage are you planning on running? What KV is your motor?

I’m building for 132’ and 188’. I only have 6S batteries at the moment, so I’ll be running those for awhile. And the motor is a 2200kv

Messing around with my Mojave, which was running the exact same gearing I did 2.55 for the 132ft

I would think dropping the spool in is going to hurt more than help. If it were my setup I would be using 18/46 gearing on 6S which should get you about 80-85mph on good lipos. All of this is assuming Hoons 100mm tires or very similar. Any higher gearing is just going to have more power than you can put down in that stretch of road. You may even need to gear down from 18/46 for 132ft. Depends on how much traction you can get.

I see what you mean. The GRPs are gonna come off and be put on the other infraction when it arrives, and BSR foam pink will be going on for grip.

The BSRs may have to be trimmed down a few mm and trued.

Seeing I’m new to forums. When I update this build is it best to edit the original post or post the updates as a new reply?

I’ve been editing the original post so far every time I add some new.

I would reply instead of editing so everyone can see how your build came along(y)

I used the same ps-49 paint on my C8 GT body. It looks real nice on your infraction body

I got a bittydesign Seven65 I’m gonna do too.. trying to keep the same theme but hopefully it looks a bit more modern.

Temporarily this “drag” build has become a speedrun build lol

First run I’ve gotten 94mph.

I’ve pretty excited to have gotten a new pb of 105mph on my 2nd run.

Still trying to better my speed runs.. feel like I need a couple of more cars to run in between as I’m letting my car cool down between runs. Shout out to a friend coming out and running with me, his C8 felony out front.

I know what you mean. I have two Infractions, one for speed and one for drag. I also have a speed Mojave and drag stretched Typhon too. Can’t seem to stop building fast cars 🤣🤘🏻

I remember thinking speedrunning sounded so boring and EASY.. boy, was I wrong!

The Mojave was such a challenging truck to get to triple digits, especially when you know nothing about how to properly setup up a speedrun car. I miss that truck.
