Anyone ever had any trouble removing the pinion from a stock BLX motor? Took out the grub screw completely and that sucker won't budge at all. Thinking of adding heat? Any thought?

It's a common issue. They get loctite all over the shaft. Heat it up.

Yes it has excessive loctite that will need to be heated to remove. Hit it directly with a hot flame for a few minutes and it should slide off. Take caution and do this outside away from flammable objects and make sure you have heat resistant gloves.

I've got one of those small torches for heat shrink, etc... That should work!

As mentioned excess Loctite on the shaft is the problem.

Once you've got the grub screw out (which you have) definitely apply some heat ( I use a soldering iron) and then gently try to lever it, ...you could use a flat blade screw driver, needle nose pliers (as pictured below) or if you have one a pinion puller. (y)
