Just received a set of raptor wheels/tires and giving them to my buddy - early ??

I'm curious about these. Hope you can keep us informed of how they run for your friend. I think I like the look of the wheel design too. Wonder how they weigh up compared to Sweep Racing... and I'm sure they're much lighter than the PL belted.

I picked up a set of the proline trencher hp 3.8 also. Ugh, I just don’t like the 3.8 size; they are just too large for my liking. I should have known better since I have a set of regular trencher 3.8 as well nib ?

They look great! Just the belted Trencher are heavy for me even the 2.8s... and of course mine came unglued first run..

Also didn't realize that Power Hobby offers a sport and race variation for these tires in the same tread design.

Sport - Firm, Long-Wear rubber compound
Race - Soft, High Grip rubber Compound

I put those on my kraton and took them right back off again after a single run. I think they look great but it handled like I'd welded rebar in place of the shocks.

They aren't compatible with the kind of bashing the Kraton does best and they are sorta awkward in general.. Way too hard for rocky terrain or big air, and they are in an odd spot between too knobby for pure street grip but much too flat to get good purchase offroad. They would be alright for a well groomed dirt track or gravel lot, maybe.

I have them on a project car I'm doing other weird things to so they are seeing good use, they were just a little expensive for the life they will lead on this little guy.

Strapping a handheld gimbal on the truck is pretty wild! lol.

I just posted an example of the footage I can get with the thing in "Other RC Media." If you are curious, go have a look!

I'd post the link here but I don't want to hijack this thread and then post a non Arrma video...

Excuse the dirtiness.. I have a pair of the scorpions. They have taken a few 15 foot landings and held up so far. Yes they are not for going beast mode. They don't have the grip of an unbelted tire. That roll over of the tire is where you achive your traction. I will say I can pin the throttle a lot harder without flipping. Speed runs are instantly accelerating and turning circles are a lot smaller. It obviously isn't an off road tire. But those days you have the need for speed and still want to jump a bit they are perfect for that. When I feel like not being able to accelerate without flipping or hitting those big jumps I will put the dboot copperheads 2 back on. For what it is and its purpose it is a good tire.

Where are you supposed to use these? Profile says on road, tread says off road.
Maybe that's because they are supposed to be a on/off road tire. For me I'm gonna grab them to be a off road tire to just rip around full throttle. But will be nice to have the stability on road also. But they seem to be a off road tire. Not meant for 20-30 ft jumps but for someone like me who just jumps over smaller natural jumps would work fine.
