Arrma RC's
  1. Notorious
So i finally dug deep into pocket and bought some trencher 3.8's for my 2018 notorious. These things are beasts!! I love Em'! now it not only performs better than the Erevo 2.0 but looks better too. They are slightly larger around, much wider, and they don't seem to balloon as much, (I run 4s mostly so i don't a big problem with ballooning). I'm gonna seal the vent holes with shoe goo or something so they don't end up like my stock tires, full of dirt and water. I'm also wondering what there is for bodies out there. Mine is done and i don't like the look of the pro line Arrma bodies, id like something a little more "truckish". Too bad nobody makes a 2018 f250 body.

Those look like the trencher x's. Keep an eye on your temps. Even on 4S, with the normal taller trenchers which are a bit lighter, mine would overheat with a 15T pinion.

Running a 13T now on 6S with kevlar line wrapped around so I don't blow the tires apart.

So far, the probodyrc body is holding up well on my outcast.

Yes sorry, my bad, they are trencher X's. I think i'm running a 12T maybe 13T pinion. I want to try going up one tooth maybe, I've never actually had my truck overheat and that's probably why.

I went back to check my videos, I was running 15/50 on 4S with my tires. I think initially I was running a 16T and overheated with that so dropped down to a 15T. The tires weren't wrapped with kevlar then, didn't really need it with the wheel speeds on 4S.

Then when I went with 6S, I started on a 14T with the tires wrapped and it did ok at the skate park, but when I ran in grass at the park or grass bmx, it would overheat in 8-10 minutes. I don't like babying things, so I dropped to 13T and now if I don't do a ton of WOT for long duration's, it will make it through a 18-20 minute pack on grass or at the bmx. I like the grip and cushion the trenchers add as well as the lack of wear since I run at concrete skate parks a lot. So I geared to be able to run those tires on it.

I do have a hobbywing heat sink/fan on the motor as it got pretty hot even on 4S.

Anyway, just trying to help you avoid my mistakes. Good luck!

I got a set of the 3.8 belted trenchers on my Kraton.. felt big and heavy. Upgraded the stock servo (savox 1230) and mount I still feel that they are just to heavy. The stock tires (copperheads) preform better IMO. Lighter and more agile. Better flips and easier to turn. But ima newb take it for what it’s worth

I have a totally unsubstantiated feeling that the belted trenchers are going to weigh more than just the normal 3.8's. I don't think that the trencher X's are necessarily heavier than stock, they’re just a lot bigger and take a little more juice to get moving. I've driven my truck almost every day and I would say the trenchers outperform the stock dboots back-flip tires everywhere, (still waiting for snow testing), (I've never tried copperheads so I wouldn't know about them). I am seriously thinking about doing the Kevlar line around them though as the front tires still balloon like crazy on 6s.
(edit) forgot to mention that i am running hot racing servo mount and servo linkage and one of those cheap 16$ animos 20kg servoes off of amazon, it has lasted for several months of bashing without a complaint.

This is my tire weight list at the moment. I don't have a weight on the latest Kraton tires, but odds are, they are light like the rest of arrma's tires. Belted trenchers are the heaviest of the trenchers, X are the next and the standard 3.8's are the lightest, which are still quite a bit heavier than the previous Minokawa MT's.

These are all on the rims they came on, or weights I was given. Started with just a list of what I had mounted on the rims they came on.

I am assuming that is per tire with rims. And if I am reading right there is about a 1.1 ounce difference between the backflips and the trencher X's. Great information though, 1.1 ounces spinning 1500rpm is a lot of weight. Another thing I wanted to mention was that I did end up shoo gooing the vents in my rims (I did mine at room temperature). (My backflips got so full of water and dirt that they probably weighed double what they should have). But if you do this, I have noticed that the tires balloon sorta weird because the vents are plugged, so you may want to consider wrapping them like olds97_lss does.

I've got a few tires and weights that are missing from the chart if you want them.
3.8" proline road rage
3.8" proline badlands (Non mx)
3.8" backflip LP

Yep, give me the weights and I'll add them.

Yeah, per tire/wheel combo. A lot are ones I had weighed myself on a scale that only does oz, so I use math for grams. I had quite a few traxxas tires/wheels, the trenchers 2.8/3.8, kraton tires, mt4's.

Some of these are what I was given... I should have kept closer track of that, maybe I'll add a column.

After running into heat issues when I started electric and suspension issues on my brushless revo, I became more aware as to what a heavy tired did. Before, I just ran nitro and ran relatively light tires. I didn't get near the speeds I do with brushless, so with gearing and tuning, I could compensate a tire that was a bit heavier/larger od.

Man, those are light! Oh, they are all small. What's a 3.3" rim? I remember having 3.2" MT tires, is that the same, just a bit off? Nevermind, checked the part number on proline. 17mm desperado "3.8".

This is the closest thing I could find to a F250 from probody rc http://probodyrc.ru/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=79 I am pretty sure that is the one that fits the Notorious but you can message Evegeniy and he will let you know for sure.

Sorry, i'm a newb. how does one message someone else? I see Probody also has the 2017 style f-350 for the Xmaxx. do they have an american dealer? All their prices are in Russian or something.. i also want to start a build thread for my Notorious for these kinds of questions and i don't know where i should list it. Please let me know.(y)

If your vehicle doesn’t have a reinforced drivetrain, I’d shy away from the wide track trencher 3.8’s and wide track trencher X 3.8’s. Besides that... wow, they’re a great tire for jumping! Even sent it so high I managed to crack their famous F-11 rim LOL. It’s only one spoke though, so it hasn’t caused an issue. I just gotta make sure to not land on that part of the wheel again ;)

Slick2500 gave me a name but it isn't a link so i can't click on it.
That's the name of the guy who owns probody rc, might be easier to contact him through Facebook. Evgeniy Zinoviev.

Ok, thanks. i don't have face book but i don't really see what I wanted on his website. Might try making my own.
