Arrma RC's
  1. Granite
Added some new wheels and shocks. Went with pre-mounted Trenchers (Had to use 15mm Hub Spacers to make sure they didn't rub the steering links) and Pro-Line (6063-00) Power Stroke Shocks (waiting on the mount kit (6063-05) to maker the tops fit tighter. Next up is a Castle creations 1406-5700BL motor with SW4 ESC.

Nice! I'm interested to see if you have trouble with the truck flipping with that new motor. The wheels/tires I'm running aren't as heavy as what you have, but on 3S with a 3250kv motor, my truck sticks its nose in the air all the dang time. I ended up getting a wheelie bar to keep from digging the back of the body into the ground all the time. Also, those shocks look beautiful.

What am I doing wrong on my granite? I added the front and rear Proline shocks (6063-00 & 6063-01) and even fully extended out the truck bottoms out. I was trying to get some shocks that would help me from bottoming out as much so I wanted shocks that I could control the dampening in and so far these have been a $100 bust. Please help.

Try longer /stiffer springs and heavier weight shock oil. Those springs look to small to me...

Those shocks are too short that's why it bottoms out. The set that's for the rear may work on the front. The OP has the shocks on a 2wd Granite Voltage not a 4X4. Move the ones you have on the rear to the front and find a different set of shocks for the rear or use stock rear.

Thanks! I'm going to try that and then use the factory spacers to tighter up the back end.

What driveshafts are you running on your granite. And about those shocks. I've been looking at them and they seem a lot shorter than stock and an wondering if you still have enough travel with them. Thanks.

Might want to get some 6s diff cups on the way. i bet that added weight will wreck the plastic cups pretty quick!

The oil is slowing the motion going up and down. The spring is responsible to push the truck back up and also maintaining it up despite the weight.

So stiffer/bigger springs will help pushing the truck back up to the max extend. Which is not always what we want. If you go over a hole the shock will be already extended to the max and will have no travel left to go in that hole.

Thicker oil will increase dampening and possibly reduce bottoming out.

Longer shocks will also add some travel to the suspension.

Conclusion, i would start by replacing the oil in those shocks before ditching them. Hey something thicker.

How is the car running? I’m starting to work on mine. Do you remember what length the shocks are? Are they are the same front and back?
Thanks bud!

Iv got some of these pl power stroke shocks coming for my granite 4x4 3s blx can you recommend what wt oil to go for to stop it bottoming out I think iv got 50wt and some 60wt wich I think is a good starting point or would heavier be better

Depends on the shocks, springs and how you run your RC. If you like going fast over bumpy terrain, you'll want lighter shock springs with lighter oil 35-50. If you jump you'll want stiffer springs and heavier oil 50 or higher.
