Made a pretty basic rendering of a F1 car and got her printed out:

Chopped up the stock body:

Placed the body upside down and taped the print into it, then heated it with a heat gun till it drooped into the right shape of the body:

Now she just needs some finishing work: "Sanding on the body and print, then paint":

Once I get all the bugs worked out and I'm happy with the finished product this will be available on my Etsy store. Shouldn't be to expensive but it does require a lot of patience and work on the buyers end.

Are you doing a new rear F1 style wing? I’d love to see more F1 options for the Lim. I’m not nuts about the Delta one.
I wish someone would do an older style F1 body, like the Williams FW14/14b. Those cars were straight up sexy.

Love how it looks, but please relocate that z seam. I cant stand ugly z seams. Or use a well tundes scarf joint.
#1 hahaha ^^^"Sanding on the body and print, then paint" < Said this earlier lol

#2 Also you may not be familiar with my work!! 🤪

I love that car, one of my faves for all time! Mansell and Patrese at their best!

Here's a lim and a F1. I'm sure you can make a bad ass front wing . Nice job though.

Nice ideas guys...

@Gordo - Some sick Limitless you got there sir!!

@Dan B. - This is what I had mocked up, although Gordo is right, the current wing, do to its huge rudders, makes the car drive like its on rails when it comes to staying straight. Haven't even done a test print so not sure on sizing just yet on this wing below.

Maybe get a front wing and rear wing package deal going for it.

Random google search returned this one...
I probably wont be doing a front end.

Return customers with the front end. Guess what part they hit curbs with the most ;)

You do some beautiful freaking work, man. You made that F1 Delta setup look fantastic!
Dan hates the batwing🤬
I know it's ugly but it works. Big sail helps keep speed runner straight.
True on both counts. And seriously, I’m the biggest Batman fan there is. I’m just tired of seeing those things. I do know they work exceptionally well but why do they have to be batwings? Just some simple vertical stabs would do just as well. I’m actually building another set as we speak. A full tail for the build I’ve been teasing everyone with for a couple years. 🙄 I can’t print awesome stuff like @nomis38 can, though. I have to do it old school with CF plate.
And it just occurred to me, I must be old. Remember when carbon fibre was as exotic a material as there was? That was an F1 joint. I don’t even think NASA had it yet! Now I buy sheets of it for my toy cars. Crazy, man.

Well I have to many 3D printing orders to continue printing the new Formula wing, but I'll get to it soon.

I did have time to sand the print, spot putty, then sand the putty, then prime. Still a few spots that have issues. Rinse and repeat is the name of the game. And patience letting it sit and cure and not touching it haha. She's looking pretty smooth so far. For now I'll use the bat wing so I primed it as well. Not sure what color I want to paint it all. Thinking Red. We shall see.

Spot putty after sanding the raw print:

Sanded the spot putty:

Primed but had a few issues I had to Putty again:

I do also agree the Batwing is a bit overdone haha. This F1 style wing is going to freshin' this car up a lot. I don't speed run anymore anyway so I am not needing a ton of straight line stability.

I'd love someday to have a setup for making CF parts, and ur not wrong CF is available everywhere now haha. I also miss the days when it much was more rare.

Quick update. I got one of my printers freed up for a few hours. Thank god they are blazing fast as this wing is not a small print haha. I was able to slip the wing in between orders.

Got it built and mounted to see the fitment. Its not everyday you design something and get it right on the first print. I'm happy with it but may refine it down the road.

Take a look.

I'll get it all primed and painted in the next few days.

Complete interior redesign and its reprinting.

Made person bigger, made cowl bigger, and hollowed out the cowl. Also, made the base shape more fitting to the hole you have to cut.

Proportionally the wing was correct, the interior was scaled to small.
