What I had thought was My Original idea of "chopping" an existing 3S/4S plastic chassis and merging them into an eXXXtended body.. Apparently had already been done and successfully by Mr. StephenSchandelmayer nearly a year ahead of me. > (OLD) XXL granite/vorteks/typhon thing
So, we been chatting privately about what each of us would do with our XXtendo designs..
Apparently there's another contender in the mix @King blitz ,will link his build as soon as it's up.

With a code name like that I’d expect an all blacked out car😉

So, imagine the Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile (front end) and a modified Vendetta (rear end) merged on an extended chassis..
That's basically what I have in mind.

Hey it looks like a batmobile, especially if you paint it Black!
I loved speed racer as a kid. RacerX was pretty cool lol. So that’s where my mind went when I saw your post…completely off subject as usual 🤪

A quick & dirty draft of what a Chassis Xtension would look like..

version 0.1b

Waiting for the new chassis to arrive so I can put them under the knife and really start to go to town with this concept.

The custom chassis brace will most likely be a modified version of my Double Barrel Center Brace.

Also waiting on some new carbon fiber rods to use to fabricate the "longer" center driveshaft..

You made me think of this....View attachment 247039

You never really know with these projects..
It can go extremely Awesome or embarrassingly bad ,real quick.

I could end up with a

If I don't figure out the proper chassis bracing correctly..

Getting the printer warmed up..

I'm going to do a quick "slice" print instead of printing the whole section ,just to confirm if my design matches/lines up with the OEM 3S/4S chassis.

So…. 200+mph?

Baby steps..

If I can get it up to 90+MPH without turning my frankenstein chassis into a Twisty pop candy Or Crashing ,I'd be very Happy.

The thickness of the outer sidewalls and the center spline matches up Exactly!

Now, I just need to chop One of the OE chassis up and measure the thickness of the 'bottom plate' of the chassis to make sure I've designed in enough meat for that profile..

Once done, I'll be able to add in all the reinforcement ribbings/tabs/clips and other custom chassis details to make this a perfect section for combining any size 'chop job' 3S/4S - eXXXtendo merge.

Can't wait to see this . This is what RC is all about.taking ideas to the limit.actually ideas and thoughts are limitless.ive been mentioning it for awhile my BR.extension project will start soon .I will start a thread soon to show all.right now I'm waiting on my new BRcc body cover to come in and I have started drawing out some plans for the cover which needs to be done first then stretch the chassis accordingly.i have 2 thoughts in mind on the cover modification and I'll post both when completed.either I go with a xtra crew cab or longer bed.easiest would be longer bed but not sure yet.also will be adding side air damn along with frount.i plan on removing the wheelie bars no need for them.anyways enough of me since this thread isn't about my build it's about texes.thx for mentioning me I appreciate it and I'm excited to see yours and stephens.happy building🤟👍

I'm not a fan of 3d printed parts but using a 3d printer to help in your build is so nice to have..lucky. I don't have that tech.ill have to do it old school lol card board 📐📏 and ✂️

Absolutely Nothing wrong with Old School..!

Hell, I'm literally watching @LibertyMKiii create his Masterful creations from thin air -using some scrap pieces of Cracker jacks Cereal cardboard boxes.
No lie!
And, I wish I was exaggerating..
I'm seeing it done with my own eyeballs.
It's insane to watch what he's making from scratch ,by hand.
That's true craftsmanship.

PS:
I still use my drafting table, scratch paper, straight edge and calipers.
