I've heard about the Proline trencher 40 series tires. Are they durable on gravel? And does anybody got problems with these tires e.g. Shocks breaking, electronics overheating or diffs stripping? Also as they have more wheel mass - will I have more damage on a crash or fail landing? I'm thinking about buying a set but don't want to buy another set if they're not good...

I bought a set of the TrencherX tires/wheels almost immediately after getting my 6s Kraton. I don't do BBs, RCD8s, Dupers, or any of that stuff because I'm too old to start that now but I can tell you they will eat up all the juice in a battery faster than a cat with turpentine on its azz!? There's that chicken again. You guys do see it...........don'tcha?

I'm actually talking about the trencher 40 series, not the x's
Still thanks :) now I know what tire not to buy

I run the taller 3.8 trenchers on my outcast. With 15T pinion on 4S, they would overheat the esc if I ran in grass for a long time (usually during the second set of 2x7400mah SMC packs). I run them now with 13T and 6S, but I have them wrapped with kevlar string so they don't balloon and blow apart. I never ran stock tires, so I can't compare run times. I always ran these.

With 2x HRB 5000mah 3S, I average 15 minutes. With hobbystar 6200 3S, I get 18 minutes. On 4S with SMC 7400mah 2S x 2, I'd get 20-21 minutes.

I do have a HW motor fan/heat sink as well.

Stock tires weigh 12.5oz per tire/wheel. The trencher 3.8's weigh 13.4oz per tire/wheel.

In run at concrete skate parks a lot, so I wanted something that had a lot of tread touching the ground or I'd just burn them up. These hold up really well. I have a set on my savage flux as well. Also had a set on my brushless revo, but they were too much weight/leverage for it and I kept blowing shocks out. The outcast and savage seem to hold up ok with them.

On the outcast, I'm running RPM arms, tekno shock ends and a savox 1210sg servo.

Don't have a "body on" photo of them after the string:

I guess I will be buying these and strap them :D they're actually not as big and heavy as I thought they would be, that's great!
Which Diameter is best? will this one here work? https://www.amazon.de/emma-kites-Ke...5Y70KF&refRID=2M9ST32RM92BY95Y70KF&th=1&psc=1

This was the stuff I used:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZPR16EM

Where I yammered on about it:
https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/...er-going-6s-with-my-outcast.11160/post-127713

It wasn't needed with 4S running. But, after putting it on, I lost a ton of air control. I can still do flips and stuff, but it takes a lot more throttle than it did even when running 4S.

I think I am not able to get the stuff you used here in europe. do you think either the 100lb version (https://www.amazon.de/emma-kites-Ge...s+Kevlar+Line&qid=1558808641&s=gateway&sr=8-1) or this one (https://www.amazon.de/Kevlar-Raubfi...kevlar+schnur&qid=1558808941&s=gateway&sr=8-7) would work?

Well, the stuff I used doesn't seem quite strong enough as I broke the string on one tire. They almost appeared cut though as all 3 wraps broke/frayed at the same spots. Guessing I chewed them up running on rocks my last time out and then taking them out last weekend ended it.

I redid the one tire and did 4 more for my savage flux, but this time I didn't glue them all the way around the tire as I had a hard time removing the damaged string without damaging the tire in the process. Last time I ran a bead of glue on the string, then on each side of the string all the way around the tire. This time, I just glued the knots really well, then put a drop of glue every inch or so.

okay, I guess I'll just try it without as most people don't do it on the 40 series

The trenchers 3.8's ballooned way too much without it at all when running 6S. If anything, I'll see if I can find something tougher to use for next time.
