Question about AVC

My Infraction is ordered, and from what I’ve seen, AVC is pretty cool for drifting these things. Normally I throw in a receiver and run all my rigs on my Futaba 4PM, but I want to keep the AVC. So my question is this: if I upgrade to a higher end Spektrum radio, bind to the receiver in the truck, will I keep AVC, or do I have to keep the factory radio to use it?

You could also get a Futaba gyro and have the same feature if you want to stick with your Futaba radio. Like all things Futaba I just takes a little more $$$$

The Futaba Gyro is about $90. If you already have an extra Rx then that’s the way to go. That being said you don’t NEED a Futaba gyro. You can find others that work for cheaper. Can probably find a dedicated drift gyro if that’s what you really like to do.

Futaba GYD450 would probably be a good fit for drifting, they run around the $80 mark. The newer 550 is a bit on the pricey side at $130.

Thanks guys, that’s some useful info. That seems better than having a DX5C dedicated to just one truck.
