Question about Max8 G2s ESC Mounting Holes

Hi Friends,

Question about my Max8 G2/G2s ESC. It comes with 6 screws and a mounting plate, but the 4 flat head screws that look like they are supposed to go in the mounting holes in my ESC (per the isructions) don't fit. The four mounting holes look smooth and don't appear to have any threads and/or the screws that came with the ESC are slightly too large to fit in the holes. Did I receive a dud?

Try some M3’s and see if they thread in. Just be very careful to not use too long of a screw.

Hobbywing esc’s are unthreaded out if the box. The depth of the holes is 4.5mm, so don’t go any longer than m3x6.

Yep, HW ESC are great ime but wish they used through hole mounting screws! I've had one or two get stripped out even being careful as they are very shallow and only plastic! I put a dab of E6000 underneath and then attach with the screws, a ziptie over the top and through two holes in chassis/brackets would be even more insurance when bashing and jumping high.
