Hey guys, I’m just getting into rc and want to start playing with spur in pinions. I know if I go up in pinion I get more speed. Do u go down or
Up in spur gear for more speed ?

Smaller spur/bigger pinion = more speed (also more heat)
Bigger spur/smaller pinion = more torque (less heat)

If you have a Mountainbike or another bike with similar gears, you can try out yourself. If you shift for higher speed, you either make the input gear (pinion) bigger or the output gear (spur) larger.
You can also feel the effects of gearing up/down yourself.

Keep an eye on your temps!

Most people only change the pinion to change gear ratios, and only change the spur if the pinion change doesn't doe enough. I don't think you'll ever need to change the spur to a different one, unless you're going for extreme speed runs.
