I have been doing some speed runs in my typhon with a xlx. I'm just curious what is a normal range for ripple voltage and voltage drop. Today's run on 6s my ripple voltage peaked at 3.05v under acceleration and dropped to .88v at top speed. Voltage dropped to about 19.8v under acceleration hitting lvc. I had the lvc set to 3.3v per cell. To me that is a huge drop in voltage under load. Battery is a hrb graphene 6s 100c 6000mah. Thought it was gonna be a good choice for speed runs but maybe not. ?

What cap pack do you run? That ripple sounds high to me.
You will find that many speed runners run parallel packs (so 2 6s packs) to reduce voltage drop and double the mAh. It is common to see close to 1v per cell under full load. Even with some SMC 150c rated packs I saw this happen when running series. Parallel reduced this. I am anxious to datalog my turnigy graphenes panther because it seems superior to me.

I'm not running any added cap packs. I really should add some soon. I would really like to get a killmode pack. I have heard of some people running two packs in series but man, I'm already barely squeezing in a single 6s pack under the stock body. To fit two I would need to make some major changes.

I run killmode 6 packs and I think these have helped out a lot. I run graphenes also in my personal rigs. I will check and see with the typhon gt8 build with castle xlx this time versus the hw max5.

Ripple is high ,adding a cap pack will reduce that. voltage drop will happen, always buy the best lipo you can afford.

What batteries you recommend for speed runs? I have seen you use the smc extremes, but they don't make an extreme 6s pack. I was looking into the turnigy panther 6000mah 6s pack but it seems like it may be too tall for the typhon body to fit on. Right now im only set up to run single packs to cut down on wiring and connections. Another pack I have been eyeing is this powerhobby 6s pack linked below. And yes I know the C rating is more than likely exaggerated but i have had good success with their 3s packs in the past. current 6s pack im using is a HRB 6s 6000mah graphene. Voltage drop is around 1v per cell. Ripple voltage is 3-4v, under acceleration and under 1v at top speed.

turnigy hd 5000 60c is a great budget pack, and the panther are the best hands down even the 5k ! i have panthers in 4s in 5k and 6k.
