Bet you have some Amps going too when loading... :giggle:

Always amazed when people get cool rigs and are stingy on batteries and get 80 Watt chargers. Sometimes there is just this window of opportunity to get out RIGHT NOW. Nothing worse than having too wait long to get lipos charged or not having enough to actually enjoy an hour or two.

100000000% agree with this statement!!!!!!
Granted the newbie’s they have absolutely no clue! “Small” percentage read into and get it right the first time around…. I really really want the ISDT X16 but I’m settling for a ISDT K4 and when out I go out ISDT air 8. To replace my current up6+

What would you recommend for a high wattage, 4-battery charger?

Dang man! Do the lights flicker when you throw the switch? ⚡

Yes. I have to actually switch on one power adapter after each other so the main fuse won't activate.
25 AMP * 18 Volt = 450 Watt times 4 = 1800 Watt

What would you recommend for a high wattage, 4-battery charger?
I have the Hobbyking charger which has 4 separate chargers. One of them died. Pretty lucky it didn't make the whole system useless. So I would not buy a 4-battery charger again.

Now I use ISDT Air Q8 and ISDT P20. With it the ISDT Parallel PC-4860 adapter where I can charge 4 lipos if they are stored at the same voltage.

I always prefer use a external power adapter. They mostly run on 15-24 Volt with DC chargers. You can run on a much higher amperage than on 230Volt AC. I a AC charger breaks you pay for the internal power adapter everytime you buy a new one. Also you can use DC chargers when outside to recharge a lipo a bit right away if you discharge them too far. So you actually get them up to a safe voltage as long as they are warm.

Never use the ISDT chargers to discharge. It destroys them.

I did not know the X16 existed. That price is crazy.
Some high wattage charges make little sense to me. Rather use the money for Q8 air and P20.

*************************
My 4s lipos are 9500mAH max. So if I charge at nearly 1,5C if I want to get outside fast:

4,2 Volt*4 = 16.8 Volt

16,8 Volt x 14 Amp = 235 Watt.
A P20 ISDT with one 9500mAh on each side will draw 470 Watt. So the power adapter and P20 is at it's limit. I don't even have a power adapter to use these high wattage chargers to their capacity.

**************************
And 6s lipos are at 4000 - 6000mAh.

6s +4,2V= 25,2 V

25,2V * 9AMP = 226 Watt
Same story here. Two of these lipos on a P20 on a 540 Watt power adapter and the setup is at it's limit.

So charging 4 lipos like this is where I "need" two P20 and two 540 power adapters. Charging at a lower C-rate obviously is better. I just don't see me waiting for two hours to charge if I know I could get out for an hour of bashing. So driving the XMaxx or K8 and two sets of batteries and a 6s rig with two 6s lipos and fast charging already needs three of the power adapters.

I have a Hyperion 2x180 Watt charger that is nearly 20 years old. No storage function and a bit clumsy in the settings but still working fine. No need to replace the up6+. Keep using them. But use external power adapters - so much more versatile. I was at a point where I was fed up with ISDT. A number of Q8 Air did not work, faulty displays and I sent them back. Q6 that stopped working. What I have now is fine. And if something better comes and old ones break the external adapters give you the chance to just use new chargers.

indeed it is. When I’m home. I’m not really in a hurry. But when I’m out I already made some 10g leads into a xt50 and it lives in the battery tray of the car, but the only reason why I’m switching is out is one of the channels died recently.
