I know somebody has thought of this but just about everybody I have talked to thought it was genius...it really isn't just being cheap,an not empty wallet in tires....I take my Dremel an put a cutting wheel in it an soon as tread is disappearing I just re-do it but with different tread designs to see what works best..I've copied stick tread designs but my favorite is bottom left ..old Corvette tread designs...now these tires have been thru almost 8 battery packs. I use zee premium exclusively for the last 15yrs or so. So they give me excellent deals..pictured is what I run.9,000 mah 120C 3S..11.4V 3S2P 102.6WH..comments more then welcome...oh an I also added my own personal blue lights from my Peterbilt...I always think outside the box..was told I'm a pain in the ass Sigma make wtf that is..I'm just always thinking...Peace

Good idea! 👊
Do whatever gets you more usage out of worn tires..
I'll have to give that a try.

Sometimes Pain in the arss people can come up with Really Great ideas.
Keep doing what you do 👍

Another possible method would be to 3D print a custom replacement tread to be remounted on worn tires..

I said the same.
You don't need treads anyway. They are just for show in many cases. Marketting. And when they wear out, many think they are done. Not really.
I think slicks drive better for on road. The Hoons "dot treads" wear out after just a few passes sometimes, as one example. And I feel they actually run better after a break-in like this. And although Hoons appear as a "directional" designed tread, and from my experience, they run fine in either direction. No difference with traction or handling. I tend to cross rotate them anyway with no issue. Like when the dot treads are half used up or almost gone. I get way more use out of them. I think the sidewall's directional markings are just for continued sales because they are sold as directional specific. A right and left hand side. Not that Hoons are the best for speed running... just an expample.

>>>I think Slicks also last longer overall. Re-Grooving out worn tires just makes them fail sooner IMHO. No real benefit.

How do your tires hold up after re-treading? I've always wondered if there were structural fibers inside the rubber and if there are, are the tires weakened?. But if it works, why not?
I'm with the others on treads. I no longer buy treaded GRPs after noticing EVERY rip and tear started at a thread and I get more use out of the slicks. In fact, the first tire I ever wore down into nothing was a slick.

I always felt grooved treads are generally more shortlived on pavement running. I noticed they split or break where the rubber is thinnest here. The Belts let go, because the rubber is thinnest there. Grooved treads wearing out is an indicator of its wear life remaining if anything. Grooved tires chunk/ cut up more easily. Grooved treads can have "some" traction advantage, traction wise, if on Sandy, dusty or dirty wet pavement. (think GRPs'). Hoons Tread "dot matrix" design not so much. But for very high speeds, I think Slicks or Foamies are the faster tire overall. For bashing or drifting it doesn't matter, Tires are very shortlved anyway. No matter the type.

Any benefit on treads? I always run slicks. Treads seem to be more slippery when I need traction instead?
Kinda hard to tell actually slicks you really need a smooth surface for traction of course any kind. If debris...etc...it just spins just like with tread, maybe it's just piece a mind I'm extending tire life instead of chucking em every 2-3 battery packs...thx for asking..
Lol that's awesome
