I have a spektrum dx5c with a 4 or 5 channel receiver. I forget what’s in there. A friend is buying my car and he has a dx 2.0. Will his remote bind to my receiver?

Yes, I believe it will bind to DSM2 surface receivers

How old is the DX2.0?
The older models were not compatible with DSM2, no idea when the transition happened or if they are upgradeable.

Only way to know for sure is to try it out.
Your receiver is a DSMR/DSM2 compatible. The 2.0 is DSM (old) and supports DSM2 in the later models. It's a pretty ancient dinosaur
