I use this one... fast, safe, and 2 channel.....charge discharge, balance storage... highly recomended

Is this thread still monitored?

Looking for a LiPo charger that could (ideally) charge 2 batteries at the same time. Only have 2S and 3S batteries, but I suppose the ability to go up to 6S might be nice.

I already own 1 Dynamite Prophet Sport Plus, so I'm curious if I should just get another one, or get a bigger charger.

Still "monitored"?

There are a ton of great suggestions here in the thread @Trevor. What is your budget for a new charger?

I'm looking for a good charger or good set up to charge my lipo batteries. They are Ovonic 3s 50c 5200 mah 11.1v. I started looking at a dual charger to start with but now I'm thinking can I get a parallel board and charge them all at once? Thanks

Doable if you always run them at the same time so that they are at the same voltage. Not doable if your packs differ much in voltage levels.

Getting a dual charger with relatively high capacity kind of gives you the option to do both. The skyrc 2x200W/2x20A will let you charge 4 3S packs (2 in parallel on each port) pretty easily. Or if you have the packs voltages not in sync, you can still charge 2 normally.

This one isn't bad on AC and puts out more watts on DC, also dual:

Thanks for the advice. I will look into the quad charger. Looks a lot easier than the parallel board too

Anyone used one of these?

HTRC C240 DUO AC 150W DC 240W Dual Channel 10A Charger

I know its a cheap one but was trying to get one for about $100 ($68US) with storage charge and dual output. For lipo up to 4s.

Guessing the T240 is a newer version of that, doesn't appear to be much more $80 vs $76 on amazon.

I have a different HTRC charger and it does ok, but the push buttons kind of freaked out on me so now I only use it in automode at 12A and don't try changing anything. The +/- buttons get stuck and it just goes and goes, so I don't press them anymore. It defaulted back to "12A auto" when I turn it on now, so I don't mess with the buttons other than to start/stop charging. That's the reason I mentioned the touch screen one as the buttons may be less likely to freak out on you like mine.

Mine is a metal case with bubble surface type buttons:

It also does not like it at all if you plug a pack in before powering it up. The one I have doesn't have a power switch. If it's plugged in, it's on. My bashing buddy plugged his pack in before plugging the DC power in (I only use it as a field charger) and it took a bunch of powering up/pushing buttons to get it to break out of a weird OS boot screen on one channel.

Does anyone know if the Venom Pro Duo 80W X2 Dual has a storage charge mode? I can't see any mention of it in the specs.

Yeah, it just isn't very high amperage or wattage. So not for those that are in more of a hurry.
7A/80W x 2 is on the low side. But that's enough to charge up a couple 3S 5000mah packs at a bit more than 1C (5A/55.5W). Will even do a 4S 5000mah at 1C (5A/74W), but just barely.

Thats ok. no big hurry but I like the idea of charging 2 batteries at same time. most of my batteries are 3s or less with only 1x 4s in my collection. Is it not better for battery life to charge slower at a lower amperage?

Typically, 1C or less is recommended. Quite a few packs allow for 2C though. I don't have enough "charger" to push 2C with my packs.

I charge my 6200 3S packs on a 4x100w/4x10A charger with it set to 10A, but it gets wattage limited around 7.5A. I parallel charge my 3S 5000mah packs in pairs on a 4x200w/4x20A charger. I think I set it at 15A though... just to not overwork the packs too much. If I cranked it up to 20A, it would limit a bit by wattage just under 2C.

In the end, all 8 of my packs charge up at about the same time, so I'm content. Been charging them this way most of the summer/fall.

I used to just charge 2 packs at a time on my larger charger, then I made some parallel plugs to try that out, so now I save half an hour on bash mornings.

I have a charger in my car as well that/s 12A/150W x 2 to recharge while I'm out if I make it that far without breaking stuff. I usually don't...

Hey guys I have been looking at picking this up. While I need to reread the post about calculating everything, three questions:

1) If the charger can put out 1400 watts why would you get a 720 watt power supply? Will this power supply allow charge to perform its best?
2) Is there any concern this setup cannot do (2) 6s packs at once at 2C?
3) I would need connector for the Arma Kraton, C5

I would like your opinions. I need to buy batteries for my Kraton 8s. After searching and reading the forum SMC batteries seem to come up from time to time. I'm curious if the batteries listed below would be the "best choice"? Also what dual (or quad) charger would you recommend. The only lipos I have are for receivers and transmitters, which I use a Hitec x1 to charge. I'm a gas guy and this electric is pretty new to me. Batteries I'm considering buying 4, SMC true spec DV 14.8V-8000mAh-110amps/75C hardcase.
Thank you,
Chris

I'm still pretty new at this, but after some searching, I decided on SMC batteries for my Senton and 1/10th on-road car. The guys at the track I've been going to like SMC, and they have a good reputation here on the Arrma Forum.
