much appreciated, I guess faced with a whole screen of Chinese I wasn't prepared to start pressing stuff but armed with the manual saying "language" , then power, then minimum voltage.......... I was happy to then press one Chinese button and when faced with 1. "Hyroglyphics"
2.700W
3. 6.5V
I was then happy that the first word 'must' read "Language" in Chinese, and once pressed it obviously then offered me English German plus other languages more recognisable....

I had gone to that screen before, but wasn't prepared to just guess after that .... one more press would have made me a hero, sorting it for myself...DOH!!
Instead sorted with your help after making a chump of myself, But all sorted in the end anyway .. THANKS !! (y) (y) :coffee:

Hello everyone, I'm in need of a battery charger and there's so many out there and somewhat confusing, I did check out the link posted in here on "How to choose a lipo charger", I have a few that I've been looking at and would like your opinions on these chargers, so I do plan on mostly using 4s and 6s lipo's and I'm using them in 1/8 scales, I'm looking for a very reliable and trustworthy brand that can do pretty much everything needed in lipo charging and maintenance ( balance charging, storage charge, discharge, etc.) , I don't want the slowest charger nor the fastest and most expensive charger, just somewhere in the middle I definitely don't want any that are just dc only, I guess unless you all have better choices or preference. I think another thing that messes with me is when I read the ratings people leave like on amain hobbies (where I shop alot) and as soon as I see what I like or think will work I look at the ratings and as soon as I see any negatives I usually go look at something else even tho it might have 90-95% positives, lol I just might be to paranoid, but anyway here's a few that I'm looking at, what are your thoughts and recommendations.

This list is in no specific order either.

Thank You for taking the time to read this.

Assuming you have 5000mAh batteries (or slightly higher). For 6S you want 150W per port, or you will have extended charge times.
That would only be the first one in your link, none of the others.

Keep in mind that you are buying 15-year-old technology, as it's virtually unchanged. Completely overpriced imho but it's a solid charger. Should be $100 cheaper and that would be my pick, but not at $300 (Tax)

Alternates Single:

Still a lot cheaper and identical technology. It's literally the same as the one you have, just different housing and single port. Buy 2 of them.

I agree 100% the only one I would even consider out of any of those is the Prodigy 625 DOU but yeah it is way overpriced, I paid half of that for my Hitec X2 400( dual channel @400w each for a total of 800w at 18v.)

I would go with the HOTA D6 Plus over the HTRC for sure and get a decent 24v dc power supply.

You could always go way overkill with this https://www.amainhobbies.com/hitec-x2-700-dc-dc-multicharger-hrc44239/p-qeaktakqgm2xactz and a 30v power supply :ROFLMAO:

So far so good with my isdt Q8 max.
I have a 30 amp 24v power supply that I got from something I was throwing away. I parallel charge only when around my batteries and can do 4 6s in under an hour.

Lately i'm having a good experience with ISDT (OEM for Spektrum) and SkyRC (OEM for Hitec)

They both have really nice 24v power supply in the 400w & 600w range - ISDT, SkyRC
And they both have really nice, cheap and powerful dc chargers that can do 300w or more - ISDT Q8, SkyRC B6 Nano

It's nice that you can buy a powerful power supply and then add as many 50$ dc chargers as you want and connect them in parallel to charge multiple batteries.

Nice, funny we wrote that on the same time.

Maybe get a couple of ISDT's P10 to avoid the parallel charging?

Parallel charging has pros and cons. I have 2 chargers, heavy duty for parallel and Hota with dual port.
Older lipos take forever to balance in parallel and goes faster in single. YMMV

Look for LED driver power supplies, they seem to be the most cost-effective solutions.
You want 34V for your charger. Power rating depends on how much of the 1500W you use regularly.
That is a poopload of 6S in parallel.

Some waterproof versions require little work to get them going. No idea what is available in the UK. Make sure they have a UL type rating (or UK equivalent) or you are getting china junk.

I ended up converting Dell server supplies. 2000W for $40 can't be beat, but requires some knowledge and ability to follow Youtube directions.
Edit: It's ~500W with the fans running at lowest possible speed (noise). It's one additional pin to be grounded, but these supplies are the best you can buy. The IT world is running on them.

I'm really liking the specs on this Hota D6+ you recommend and the price is perfect also. I was also reading on the net and I see alot of drone guys/gals use this brand especially the drone racers.

ISDT Q8 cuz I ain’t got time for that

aint nobody got time for that GIF

The only thing is, im looking for ac, didnt want to mess with dc having to have an power supply as well.
Hmm well shoot. I just bought some Meanwell 500W PSUs for at home and charge an extra 6S for the road.

@jondilly1974 The ISDT Q8 is this what you use? I was watching a video on it and I'll have to admit it looks to be very simple to use and its size is small for something that packs a punch. I think I might have to rethink on dc power supplies, but not set in stone yet my friend. lol

I bought mine on Amazon 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not sure how the Q8 is but I would not buy the Q6 Nano, it is very tedious to use as it only has 2 buttons.

whaat would you recommend for a good reliable power supply for that charger?
can a power supply be able to be connected to 2 of these isdt chargers?

That meanwell unit that @jondilly1974 posted above looks to be a good unit.

This is another option as well since the one on Amazon appears to be out of stock https://www.ebay.com/itm/254948597637?hash=item3b5c1edf85:g:W8MAAOSwQ8BfkWJU

I have a unit like this, it's only 12v but it does the job if you do the buy it now you will get a silver 750w (63 amp) no USB https://www.ebay.com/itm/1244885324...NXcXOAFpNPxc2R9J8%3D|ampid:PL_CLK|clp:2563228
