So started on this today. Got it bare chassis basically, no diffs, axles, driveshaft... It could slide like a turtle, guess that's where the term comes from lol
Spent a good amount of time swapping 3S Typhon axle ends on, with the idea I could use Typhon 17mm adapters instead of the stock hex setup. That's a negative, there just about 3-4mm short, so pin hole doesn't come out enough to get said pin through it. So that's a bust, spare parts for the Typhon or upgrade Granite, they'll get used.
Width of the arms at the hub is actually the same front and rear on a 4s, but only matches the rear of 3s, so just swapping on 3s hubs won't fix that. For now I ordered the stock setup, but I'm not giving up on a better setup.
Plan is to steal the HW Max10 SCT from my Granite for now, and ordered a 3670 size 3050kv motor. Either ads-15m or a 20kg Chinesium servo next, saver delete. Still undecided on wheels, really leaning towards 6s Katar from Talion. They're a quarter inch shorter, ¾ inch less offset, and I think the look I'm going for, something just slightly more low and fast.

And yes that's a Mega 48p slipper just placeholding lol

Funny, I was looking over parts diagrams for the 3s Typhon yesterday regarding the hex/ends setup swap. I noticed the hubs for the 4s are wider than the 3s, so decided it would not work, too short, as you said. The wheels stay on my 4s with the stock nuts just fine, but I would prefer the normal 17mm external nut set up. I might order the HR set if I just feel like throwing money away on bling one day. I vowed with this 4s truck I would not spend any money on parts that are not broken, keep it stock and see how much abuse it will take, where the weak points may be.

JonUFO2 nothing wrong with that.I try to do that with all my RC's. No bling here!
