Are there any tips or products to help remember the state of charge with your battery? I was hoping that a product exists that clips onto the leads of a battery and you could mark it to show “storage, full, empty, half” or similar.

I think A Main has different colored battery caps just for this purpose. Im too lazy to do a search.

Yeah amigo you just plug a volt meter thingy onto the balance lead of you lipo.

Used to always need one when flying fpv freestyle drones years ago, shows you the voltage of each cell and will give off an alarm when you reach a certain voltage, say 3.8v so you had time to bring it back home before you ruin the lipo.

don't some of the good controllers give you battery info, ok, smart tech on spektrum, multimeter would give you an overall voltage not a cell by cell unfortunately. Atho the little plug shows cell volts, multimeter will read those and they are dirt cheap on ebay.

Once you are long enough in the hobby you will know 4.2v/cell means full and 3.8v/cell is storage. LVP of the esc will determine it's empty.
It's like learning tables, after a while it's programmed in your system ;)

I always bring my Hobbywing lcd programbox along to check batteries

I use a battery checker after each run to determine the state of the batteries. If they are at or near storage specs, I mark them with a piece of white first aid tape before I put them into an ammo can for storage. To take this method a bit further, you could write the voltage or percent of charge on the tape.

I used to keep my batteries in the boxes they came in, and mark a "S" or "C" on the box. Kinda lost track of that tho. I just put them in storage charge after I'm done, or within a day or so.
