I thought I saw a thread on this already, but I can't seem to find it, what has everyone done to remove the slop in their steering bellcrank. By slop I mean the up and down movement on the posts, mine has a good 0.5mm gap when pushed all the way down or all the way up it makes my steering pretty sloppy and the truck drives backwards like a stock Ecx 2WD Ruckus.

Correction I have no idea what washers or shims I used in the bellcrank, they were not the Mugen diff washers.
When I tear it back apart again I will measure them and post my findings here.

Replace bushings with bearings and replace the steering ball cups.

That doesn't remove the up and down slop of the steering rack on the posts, that is what I want to get rid of.

Replace bushings with bearings and replace the steering ball cups. 5x10x4 is the bearing size, theres 4.
AR330515 is the part number for the, I call them ball cups. And the bearings instead of bushings.

This was for the Outcast so no those are the wrong sized bearings.
The Hot Racing bellcrank still has the up and down slop in it as well.

Ok. Might as well post the answer here too in case someone needs it.

If you are going to be taking this apart to shim you may as well replace the bushings for bearings. You need 6x10x3 bearings.

You will need 6x8x.2 shims.

Edit (good catch @slick2500 )-Put the shim on top of bearing (if replacing) or bushing number AR340067 from the pic below. Disregard the giant arrow.

Put the shim between the inner race of the bearing and the collar of the bushing. See pic.

I want to shim these bearings. I already have bearings in there. There is nothing wrong with my ackerman plate.

Good grief, yeah I don’t know what happened there for some reason I thought the bushing collar was between the bearing and center plate ...maybe has something to with posting at 1:30 in the morning. Anyway, those are the correct shims and they go on top of the inner race of that bearing.
