I should have gotten a screen protector for mine :/ I'm thinking I might have to rma it though, the power button keeps getting stuck so the radio turns itself on and off.................

I found out something cool about the DX2.0 doing some research on it, the only difference between the DX2.0 and the DX3.0 is a solder joint on the circuit board. You just have to bridge the 2 points together and boom it becomes a DX3.0, it even says DX3.0 on the circuit board lol. I haven't dared to do it though as it is very very tiny like maybe 0.5mm and there are other solder joints within 1-2mm of it and my hands are far too shaky to be trying that.
I never used 3 channels anyway. My DX5C has 5... I use 2. lol!

Yeah true. I only have 1 rc that actually uses more than 2 channels and that is the Summit. 5 servos, an esc and 14 leds.

I just replaced the stock Spektrum ST2 in my Brand New Kraton v4 with a Sanwa MT44. Thats what all the more "serious" guys at the local track recommended but it was about $300 and there are some very good cheaper alternatives. I just loved how the radio felt and the quality felt great.

Never saw a radio that came with alternate triggers. Fancy!

I run a spektrum dx6r, various spektrum, various Traxxas tqi, tactic.

Ordered a flysky noble nb4 because I had to try it. Maybe switch over the tactic in daughters outcast
https://www.flysky-cn.com/nb4

I also have that radio. Great radio so far. I haven't had any issues to conplaing about. Good price point, not cheap, but not out of range for someone not looking to spend too much.

Spectrum started off well years ago but the quality is very poor now. My first dx3 was faultless and i eventually wore it out, my next spektrum had the worst range so i went fly sky gt3c, a quarter of the price and a hundred times better, now i run an absima cr3p, receivers are pennies and i have 8 cars bound to the one handset all with their own presets.

I was so excited to start considering a Notorious, now all I hear is how awful the radio system is! I can’t help but think Horizon did this on purpose to quickly sell other Spektrum upgrades. I have a tactic that came with my Deadbolt. Other than being very simplistic, i have no complaints.

I see lots of recommendations on the FlySky. Is it easy to use? Can you set throttle adjustments for little ones so they aren’t doing instant backflips all the time? Servo endpoints, etc.? Although I don’t need the 5-6 channel ones, I certainly like the looks better.

Yeah, you can program all that stuff. Probably set specific buttons as well like my spektrum so you can adjust stuff without diving 3 menus deep while your bashing. I just set a button for my throttle/steering trim and to start/stop the timer.

I don't particularly care for the menu wheel on my DX5C. The one on the DX3C worked better. But the lack of an antenna sticking up is nice.

Are any of the other radios available on Jenny's comparable or better that the Tactic TTX300?? Needing a new radio and the TTX300 seems to always be sold out...The POS spektrum seems to always be available, hmmm

Here's a list of some other radios available on JRC:
HoBao Truggy SS FHSS HT-2.4E
Syncro KT 201
Skyion MOD 3S

A lot of people don't like how expensive the receivers are compared to some of the other brands. I myself run a 4PLS and 4PM and love them both. I never really cared for how any of the Spektrums felt myself.
Quality usually come with a price tag. I'm choosing Futuba because they have awesome range. I'm turned off of Spektrum because of the 5 crappy radios I have now. Sure they may have some good ones, but they're not getting anymore of my $.

I've thought about changing a few times, but yeah, the $50+ receiver price tag is a hard pill to swallow when you have 10+ trucks. Then again, I suppose you don't have to convert over all at once. Just the vehicles you drive most, then buy more receivers down the line.

So far, for what I do, spektrum works ok for me now that they have the coaxial antenna's that triple my range over the old days.

I gotta say, today was the first time I ran my Typhon and the radio isn't very impressive at all. If I can get one like on my BRCC, would I set the endpoints the same way since there isn't any knobs on it?
In not many weeks 2-3 Im going to buy one (Typhon 6s) and probably if I my budget is deep enough XD, I will change the radio as soon as posible and a Metal case servo to make it stronger.

@J.Spain97 i did exactly that.
Got my typhon 6s on Thursday, ran 2 full charges on it. Next day I got myself a Futaba and am never going to look back.
These 6s rc’s have too much power to use that crappy transmitter! I’m also going to get a receiver to use in my Notorious.
It is an investment but to are the cars we buy at the price they are

How much do you want to spend?

This is seriously the cheapest radio I would feel comfortable using Flysky FS-GT2E $26.16 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Flysky-FS-GT2E-AFHDS-2A-2-4Ghz-2CH-Radio-System-Transmitter-for-RC-Car-Boat-X2Q5/133025806337?epid=19020347295&hash=item1ef8f4b801:g:2jIAAOSwM5Nctwyj&LH_BIN=1&LH_ItemCondition=1000

The hobbyking version comes with a rechargeable battery for $27.82 + shipping https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyki...-receiver-w-rechargable-li-ion-battery-1.html
The Flysky FS-GT2 has been around for years and it works and does a decent job. I have an older version that used 8 AA batteries and it worked fine until it randomly died after 2 years of use, I think it might have gotten wet as it was snowing the last time I used it.

And I haven't even skimmed the surface on radios.
Hello! I've been searching all over the site for radio recommendations...just bought a Kraton 6S (first RC) and trying to figure out which radio to upgrade to. I see a million recommendations, a lot for the Futaba 3PV which I'm leaning towards right now.

My real question....Obviously you can go from $40 to $$$$....at what point is it overkill for a single RC just being used a basher? In your opinion, what is the best radio to pick up without going overboard and getting features that will never be used or really noticed between an expensive one and a less expensive one?

My key care about is no lag in response time (I think) which Futaba seems to get a lot of recommendations when discussed. I'm not concerned with the price tag, but don't want to spend more just because if there is no added benefit.

If you are only ever going to use one rig, just grab a Tactic or a Dumborc
Thanks! I found a ttx300 on ebay NIB for $39 compared to the Futaba which is $129. No need to spend the extra $90 if there won't be any benefits. If down the road I decide to get more rigs, I'll upgrade at that time.
