I have the RPM front bumper on my Typhon 6s. Currently I just have the composite plate that came with the bumper over the front suspension block like so:

I'm wondering if the mini stock bumper would be better/worse, or if it even matters. Overthinking it?

I think I've seen pics on here of rigs with both bumpers installed. Maybe try it's fit, see what you think. Might be a bit sturdier with both.

The RPM bumper used to not come with that plate and everyone just ran the Typhon bumper with it. They only recently started making them with the plate. I would think it should be sufficient all it does is hold in the hinge pins. Does it attach at the bottom like the Typhon bumper?

The plate just has the two screw holes that go through into the block. No piece underneath that slides under block.

To expand on this a bit - When using the plate, your hinge pins are secured on the front side. When not using the plate and using the stock bumper, there is a small gap between the hinge pins and the bumper. This would allow the hinge pins some play I imagine. Is that play helpful in any way or could it cause an issue? Could this be why a plate is better to hold the hinge pins in.

I guess it comes down to a look or preference. The RPM plate may still allow movement & you can't see if there is a gap. You could measure the inside depth of the hinge pin hole in the RPM cover plate & the pin sticking out to find out. The plate would keep dirt out of the pin & aluminum plate. Seems the Arrma bumper may add a bit more strength. Idk.

I use the rpm bumper set. Very good for me.

I have the V5 version, tho.

I would machine the front/bottom hinge plate so the pins are flush with the retainer.
